His eyes remained on me as I discussed pack business with the elders. Probably he was thinking about me. Maybe not. I couldn't be sure. The thing I was sure of though was that he was alive. Not sure why that didn't affect me as it should. Maybe it was probably because at some point of my consciousness, I still held onto the part that said he was my brother. The Greg I grew up with and missed his sudden departure.

His breathing wasn't starting to irritate me as of yet. I had a few nerves left alive that he hadn't frayed as yet.

I then caught the eye of my father-in-law as he seemed to watch the exchange between my brother and I.

"Is there something on your mind Victor?" I inquired, blinking innocently with a small smile. The room crackled with tension and a certain level of nervousness which had each of the elders quivering. Were they scared of me?

Before he could answer though, one of the elders spoke up. "Isn't more appropriate to call him 'Dad' now since he is your only father now."

Without much thought, my nostrils flared and the elder that spoke up shrunk back into his seat. I stood up, wordlessly commanding all their full attention. "And how does my family affairs have anything to do with the efficiency of our pack?"

"Now, now, it is okay to just simply call me Victor, no one was asking you to change," I turned to him as I tried to relax. I could hear Greg fighting back a laugh and I turned to the guard beside him to plunge that knife deeper in his side. With his grip on the knife and the guard helping him, I watched as he coughed up another spit of blood. I scoffed, shaking my head. Suddenly, my mind seemed that much clearer. "May I ask why he is here, daughter?"

"Did you not all help with the capture of my family's murderer?" I smiled sweetly and he nodded at that. "Good, now this is a gift to you all. Let us proceed, I feel as if precious daylight hours are wasting. And we do not want that now, do we?"

"No, Luna." They all said in chorus except for the former Alpha. I raised my eyebrow at that.

"And how are things in the South Division?" I inquired.

"There are quite a number of concerns of the people which I would like to leave for when the Alpha has returned," I tried not to show any emotion at that. He gave me a tentative look. "If you don't mind."

"Well, if you think such concerns are able to be put off on a later day which may be possibly far away I have no problem," I smiled and he nodded. "I just always thought you were someone of immediate action. Never took you for someone who would leave your people as last priority-"

"Now, I did not say they were of last priority-"

"But they are not your first and that is the problem," I shot him a glare that had the air chilled to a much lower temperature. "And I would not take it kindly if you made an habit of cutting me off. I am quite fond of you, but there is a limit to the disrespect, especially as my father-in-law."

"Very well," he continued, sliding a glance my brother's way whose head was bowed down in agony. "With the recent take over of the Thunderstorm pack, your pack, being merged with our pack has raised concerns with the ruthless taking over of all major packs and thus, some of our branched packs are starting to rebel."

"Branched packs? I thought it was all just one pack," I thought aloud, everyone staring at me. "I see what is the problem. They most likely find it odd that Alpha Victor had taken over their packs without much remorse, but merged with mine through marriage. This gives the possibility that the Black Diamonds Pack have become weaker or if they merged a large enough pack themselves, they could defeat the Black Diamonds Pack. I mean, why would there be a marriage when all along they have been just going to war for packs?"
