Being a forensic analyst was Calum Hood's dream ever since he could utter his first word. His parents were proud that he chose a sensible, stable path rather than something temporary as his other friends decided to.
Graduating from Baker College with top honors, Calum went out into the world with a positive outlook on things. Calum was highly coddled by his mother throughout his life, so despite his intelligence, he wasn't very aware of the nasty realities the world holds. After 3 grueling weeks of searching hi and low, he finally found refuge at Drug Enforcement Administration Northeast Laboratory (DEAL) in New York City; a completely different life than he was accustomed to in rural Michigan.
Prior to boarding his plane, Calum makes one single promise with his parents: "Don't let anything get in the way of you accomplishing your dreams." Calum complied with his parents wishes and was adamant about keeping his word.
However, when Calum stepped off the plane in the city that never sleep-as it's commonly referred-he starts pondering his parents words as he sees all of the beautiful women (and men) New York had to offer.
"My parents did say not to let anything get in my way, but they never said something about anyone."
Calum became captivated in his thoughts as he plugged in his headphones, making his way to his new apartment while unsuccessfully trying to keep up with the pace of New York citizens.
This is going to be a long day.
