The Mikaelson family hadn't been the same since they lost their youngest member.

They tried to act okay but deep down they were all feeling pain.

None more so than the two hybrids who had sent their daughter away.

Klaus Mikaelson stood in his room painting, it's what he did most days now. He dipped his paintbrush in the yellow paint and moved it to the canvas. He was painting a picture of his daughter. He hasn't seen her since that fateful night she was born. Since the night she was lost to him. But that didn't stop him from trying to figure out what she looked like now. Would she be blonde? Brunette like her mother? Somewhere in the middle? Would she be tall or short? Blue eyes? Green eyes? Brown eyes? He always wondered but he never knew.

Over the years Klaus had painted and sketched what seems like thousands of pictures of what he thinks his daughter might look like. Each one was different but in each one she was always beautiful, just as he remembers her.

He often thinks back and regrets sending her away, what he regrets more is the not knowing. They'd sent their daughter away with a werewolf they trusted, only to discover that werewolf died in a car accident. One car accident, one dead werewolf and no Hope.

The paintbrush in Klaus's hand snaps in half and he sighs. He looks to the unfinished painting and felt tears in his eyes. Tears he'd never let fall.

The painting was blurred, you couldn't make out any distinct features on the girl. She was unknown. Just like his daughter.

Klaus hadn't expected this day to be different than any of his other days, so when Freya came running into his room with a frantic look in her eyes demanding Klaus to meet her and the others in the main room, he wondered what had happened.

He did as Freya said and met the others in the main room. Freya was frantically rushing about and the others watched in confusion.

"Can someone please tell me what's going on?" Hayley demanded.

"Yes. I'd like to know too." Klaus said.

Freya continued to rush around as she spoke, "A few minutes ago I was in my room reading a book when I felt something. It wasn't just something it was....something."

"You dragged us out here because you felt something?" Rebekah asked with a look of disbelief.

"I know it sounds crazy but...I think what I felt was Hope."

All their heads snapped up to stare at the witch. "What!?" They all shouted at the same time.

"How do you know it's Hope?" Kol asked.

"Because it felt familiar. It felt powerful, so much power. And it felt, it's hard to explain, but it felt like family. That's what I'm doing now. The spell should be able to show us if it's Hope or not. Klaus, Hayley, I need your blood because you're her parents."

Both Klaus and Hayley held out the hands without hesitation. Freya cut a line on their palms and let a few drops drop in the bowl.

"Just remember that we will be able to see her but she won't be able to see us. Form a circle around the table and hold hands. Klaus hold my right and Hayley hold my left."

They all did as Freya instructed. Freya began chanting and each of their eyes began to mist over and they were dragged into a vision of their Hope.

A beautiful blonde girl stood staring out at the woods.

"Hope!" The blonde turned as a man a few years older ran over to her. She gave him a tight smile and wrapped her jacket tighter around herself.

"Hey Derek." The blonde, Hope, said softly.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes and no. We killed the nagitsuni but Allison and Aiden are also dead. We won and yet....it feels like we lost." Hope whispered.

"We did lose. We lost two people who meant a lot to you. I'm sorry you had to go through that." The man, Derek, said. He put his hand on her should.

"I'm not exactly new to losing someone I love, Derek. You should know that better than anyone." Hope said.

"Doesn't mean it gets easier." He whispered.

"The day it gets easier is the day I become a real monster." The two shared a look and a soft smile, "I'll be fine. I'm always fine."

"Okay. Do you want a lift to your apartment? Or you can stay at mine if you want?" Derek asked.

"No it's okay. I have somewhere I need to be. But I'll see you tomorrow." Hope turned and hugged Derek. She smiled at him and then began walking away...

The Mikaelson's all gasped and blinked their eyes rapidly.

That was Hope.

That was their Hope.

"She's beautiful." Hayley said and Klaus couldn't agree more.

"Where is she?" Elijah asked.

"I saw the sign behind her. It said Beacon Hills." Freya says.

Klaus's eyes light up in excitement. He knows where his daughter is.

He can finally bring her home.
