During their last meeting, the two, Jeongguk and Taehyung, had planned to meet up two hours into Jeongguk's shift. Taehyung would order his favorite drink, and Jeongguk would continue working whilst Taehyung waited. Of course, Taehyung would be doing something productive as well; that, Jeongguk was reassured by.

Now, however, was the time to see if their plans actually come through...

[Jeongguk's PoV]

'I'm late! I'm late!' As I sprint towards the cafe, I chant that in my head. Well, I wasn't technically late, it's just that I promised to help Jin-hyung set up the cafe for the day.

And, shit, I'm late. I hope he doesn't kill me...

Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.

Ah, the cafe is in sight. As I enter through the back door in a rush, I could already feel Jin-hyung's eyes on me. It's as if he's boring holes into my body, and, honestly, I'm petrified.

"Jeongguk," Seokjin, or Jin-hyung calls out. "You know you're late right? By..." he checks his wristwatch, "almost an hour." He then hisses at me, and I may or may not have shrunk.

"I'm sorry, hyung," I say, drawling the sentence out with a whine. "I really am! I woke up late..." By now, I wring my hands and look down, body slightly twirling.

I hear Jin-hyung chuckle. No sooner than when I heard it, his hands grasp my shoulder softly yet firmly.

"Guk, 's all okay. 's alright, hm?" He says softly. "Just don't do it again, yeah?"

"Mm," I affirmed, humming. I genuinely felt bad for coming bad.

"Oh, and meet my cousin," he states from somewhere a bit further away. As I look up, my breath hitched. No way. "Kim Taehyung."

"Hi, Gukkie!" Taehyung says, beaming a boxy smile. That smile will be the death of me. I swear.

"H-Hi, Tae," I managed to stutter. For fuck's sake, why'd I stutter?!

"Interesting," Jin-hyung hums, looking at Taehyung and me alternatively. "You two know each other?"

"Yeah, hyungie," Taehyung reminds hyung. "I told you I met him a while back, didn't I?"

"Ah!" Jin-hyung exclaims, clapping his hands together. "You did, you did. Yeah, sorry, I forgot."

"Anyway, enough of the dilly-dallying. We've got work, boys, and the store opens in fifteen minutes!"

Immediately after Seokjin-hyung says that, Taehyung and I quickly go over to continue setting the cafe up.

We put the rest of the tables in place, opened the shutters of the front door, watered the hydrangeas in the window-boxes, and swept the porch. Soon after finishing these, we turned the AC on and flipped the sign reading 'open - close.'

Seokjin-hyung then calls Taehyung and I to the pantry for a short break before the customers came. He offered to make us any drink we want. I wanted a banana milkshake, and Taehyung wanted a strawberry sundae.

As Jin-hyung scurries to make our drinks, I decide to question Taehyung on a few things such as: "Why didn't you tell me you were Jin-hyung's cousin?", "Why were you here early when we promised to meet up later?", "wHY AR EYOU XOS HOT AND SQUUXHY ONGGKWKDNSNWJXJSJXJS--". Okay, maybe not the last question, even though I constantly wonder that.

I must have furrowed my brows, 'cause Taehyung immediately asks if something was bothering me. And I, being the crackhead I am, sounded a bunch of gibberish.

It sort of came out like this: "AAAAAAAAJJJKSJJSKSJSJDJSJDJSKDJ WHAT?!"

Yay. I embarassed myself in front of my love. On the bright side, though, I got to hear his laugh, so I guess it was worth it.

After this shenanigan, Jin-hyung came over with our drinks. I didn't get to ask my question, but I guess I could ask it later on.

Taehyung finished his drink first. He went to the sink, washed his cup, and excused himself out. He did that chain of things in quite a short period, I was confused when he left. Why did he leave?

I decided to ask hyung about this (which was the right call, I believe), and he immediately tells me Taehyung has work to do. What it was, he didn't specify. And I didn't plan on asking, as I wanted to figure it out myself.
