How Lynxhowl Came To Be

I sink my claws into his shoulder, gripping on tightly. I can feel him trying to shake me off but I hold on for dear life. If I fall off right now he will advance on me and sink his claws into my throat and I'll be gone.

I'll leave my clan and kin behind. Though not much kin. Suddenly I dont feel fur and blood under my paws, I feel nothing. Im being throw off! Im going to die!

I fall to the ground, and I groan in pain. He glares at me.

"Finish me off." I cough staggering to my paw but to only collapse again. Savageclan is better of without me, Everyone is.

He steps closer his claws unsheathed and ready to sink into my throat, killing me.

"No, I can't." He backs away from me, eyes suddenly wide and filled with fear. He is scared to kill me!

What a coward! I narrow my eyes.

I might as well kill myself.

I slowly get to my paws. "Are you saying you are afraid to kill," I croak.

Rogues do that right, or is he a kittypet.

I look at him more closely, narrowing my eyes.

He doesn't have a collar on and he is quite thin. Very thin! He doesnt look healthy at all! He is basically a pelt with bones. "I can't bring myself to kill you," he murmured.  "Why not?" my voice suddenly growing soft.

"You're a kit."

"What!" I yowl suddenly gaining my strength. 

"Im not a kit, im an apprentice, im almost done with my training!" My tail lashes. Im very offended by this.

"What?" A confused expression travels across his face.

I sigh, sitting down. "Its nothing," I mutter.

"Oh, so you are one of those clan cats?" He sits down also, a few tail lengths away from me.

"Oh so you have heard about Savageclan?" I glance at him expectedly. 

"Yes I have. Horrible stuff. Savageclan has more battles within them than with other clans." He blinked in amusement.

I snort about to disagree but I keep quiet.

Savageclan does argue alot.

I look at him, not sure what to do next.

Maybe I could attack him right now, he seems relaxed.

I look at his sheathed claws and calm expression.

Why is he calm anyways, does he have no idea that I can kill him right now if I wanted to?

I decide to ask him, interested in his answer.

"Why are you so calm?"

"Because I trust you," he murmured looking me in the eyes. I shift suddenly feeling uncomfortable.

What does he mean he trusts me? He doesnt even know me, or is he just making fun of me again?

Unsure what to think I painfully get to my paws.

"I dont even know your name!"

Why am I so offended? He was just being kind, I think.

"Silenthowl." He whispers flicking a leaf from his ear.

"Silenthowl," I repeat quietly.

"And your name?" He asks padding over to a plant inspecting it closely.

Should I tell him my real name? What if he uses it against me? What if he rats me out for being without my mentor, but then again he doesn't know that im not allowed out without my mentor.

This might all just be a trick. He wants to gain my trust then kill me at the least expecting moment. Im on to him, maybe I could kill him before he kills me.

I pad towards him, my body screaming in protest. I just need to wound him not kill him. He is a tail length away from me, just a little bit more.

Silenthowl mutters to himself, is back facing me.

I unsheath my claws. Maybe I should kill him.

"Your name is?" Silenthowl suddenly turns around looking at my paws.

He sees that they are unsheathed!

His face doesn't change, he doesn't look angry nor surprised but sad.

Sad!? Why is he sad? He should be angry!

"So you still think we are enemies," Silenthowl  murmured looking back at the plant.

"I thought we where friends," He whispered gently, plucking a few leaves from the plant.

"Friends?" I blink.

Silenthowl padded closer, dropping the leaves.

"You have an infection in your shoulder. This is marigold, it treats infections."

"Your a Medicine Rogue?" I ask surprised on how he knows this.

"No. Not sure what that is. Just let me help you, it's what friends do." He glanced into my eyes afraid of my reaction.

"Yes friends," I mew purring gently.
