Vicky was finished unpacking her things and was heading downstairs for opening the mystery gifts. She felt really excited and nervous about opening their gifts.
There was six gifts for three girls, known as herself, Eva, and Sasha. Vicky's parents and Uncle Charles and Auntie Anya were planning to give them the gifts for a very long time and they said something about that they have finally came of age to give them their gifts.
Vicky found Sasha, Eva, Uncle Charlie and Auntie Anya were sitting on the couch, Silver, Shadow, Bella, and Toney were all around the table. The fire alighted their faces, the fire glimmered in the fireplace.
Sasha looked up with a smile and sparkling eyes. She singled Vicky to join them.
On the table was three flat boxes in the colors of purple, blue, and yellow, along with the smaller same colored boxes.
"Okay, we're all here." said Sasha as she gestured for Vicky to sit down next to her and Eva.
"Good, now unwrap your presents." said Uncle Charlie with a smile.
Vicky gently and carefully unwrapped and opened the smaller box, the box is like the ring boxes that she saw in many jewelry stores. When she carefully opened the box, Vicky gasped when she saw the most beautiful ring that she had ever seen. The ring is gold and the jewel that seemed to be shinning by itself was a beautiful blue moonstone.
Nearby she heard her sisters gasp too. Vicky looked up to see that Sasha has a gold ring with a sea-blue sapphire. While Eva also has a gold ring, but with a aquamarine jewel.
The rings seemed to be glowing with their own inner lights. The three of them put on their rings on their fourth fingers.
Vicky and the others opened the bigger presents, Vicky widened her eyes. There was a beautiful and clean velvet red cloak folded inside the box, with a beautiful aroma of fresh the forest. After Vicky put her cloak on (which goes down to her ankles), she saw that Sasha and Eva wore the same-colored cloaks.
"Thank you, Auntie Anya and Uncle Charlie." said Vicky and Eva in unison as they looked at Auntie Anya and Uncle Charlie.
"Thanks Mom and Dad." said Sasha to her parents.
"Be careful with them and whatever you do don't lose them." said Auntie Anya seriously.
"We promise, Mom." said Sasha, she turned to look at Vicky and Eva. "Right, girls?" she added.
"I promise." sworn Vicky calmly.
"I promise too." sworn Eva.
"There are rules to these items, we have put them in the pockets of your cloaks." said Auntie Anya seriously.
"Let's go in my bedroom and review over these rules." said Sasha.
Sasha nodded her thanks to her parents once again and the girls went upstairs. Sasha took the lead as they went into her bedroom. Her bedroom has about five or six animal posters, her bed that lies in the left corner has pale blue and pink blanket, next to her bed was a desk with a lamp. On the end of the bed was a white and blue chest. By her window seat has silky curtains. Her closet door was white and was filled with clothes on hangers and bed coverings in huge plastic bags on the right, at least that's what Vicky saw before Sasha closed the door. There was a framed picture of a horse stampede, a framed picture of a beautiful temple in a jungle with a family white tigers and jungle critters, a picture of their family, and a mirror framed in painted gold-blue was hung to the right.
The window seat showed the huge, mysterious forest on the other side of the river outside.
"Okay, let's find this note in our cloaks." said Eva, she sat down on the window seat.
Sasha and Vicky both sat down the bed and Vicky found the secret pocket in her cloak. She got the folded paper out from her pocket, Sasha and Eva also found the notes too.
"Who wants to read first?" asked Vicky after she and her sisters unfolded the papers.
"I'll go first." said Eva. "The first rule says, it only works for the good of others. Our magic can never be used for selfish reasons."
"The second rule says, our magic works only after you have tried your very hardest without its help." said Vicky.
"The third rule says, our magic will work when we're in the greatest hour of need." said Sasha.
"And . . . That's it." said Eva after looking over the note.
Then they heard a loud rumble of thunder and a flash of lightning, making the girls scream with fear. But then they bursted laughing.
Vicky laughed out of sheer fear. She couldn't stop.
"Whew, that was a good barrel of laughs." said Eva with a chuckle.
"Geeze, you think?" teased Sasha to Eva, laughter alighted their eyes.
They all bursted out laughing again. Vicky started feel her grief fading away. Maybe staying with Sasha and her parents won't be too bad.
