Warm sunlight spilled out the windows as students walked by trying to get to their classes. Well, the majority were. Some familiar faces pass by, but I decided not to greet them and pretended to not notice them. However, I don't ignore all familiar faces.

I watched her appear at the end of the hall. Somehow, she always seems to stand out from the rest of the student body. I watched her long blonde hair bounce slightly on her shoulders as she walks. I mentally note that she wore the same black jacket she wore last week. My eyes go back to her face. Those mesmerizing blue eyes, cute nose, and- She's gone. Looking back was tempting, but I had a class to attend.

"Yon!" Already realizing who it was, I continued to face away from my energetic friend.

"Hey," I replied. My voice came out colder than I expected. Within seconds, I could detect someone with a flowery scent plop themselves next to me.

"What's with the cold shoulder?" She whined.

"No reason," I responded with a lighter tone this time. Hopefully.

"Sure doesn't seem like it," she grumbles. Probably unaware that I could hear her. "Yon, you're not gonna eat again?"

"Yeah."

"It ain't good for you," she warns.

"It's alright," I reassure her. Surprisingly, she didn't continue pestering me about my lunch. Hearing some tearing, I assumed that she had began eating.

A minute later, she asked, "What're you looking at?"

"Something," I answer. Never taking my eyes off.

"Sure," she says, her voice full of suspicion. "Is it someone or something?"

"Someone," I reply absentmindedly. There was a moment of silence.

"WHO?!" She exclaimed excitedly. I flinched, regretting the choice of spilling such news to her.

"This girl-"

"Is she your crush?!" She interrupted excitedly. Apparently, that was enough to get my eyes to leave that beauty, and make eye contact with my friend. Immediately, I noticed the difference between the two.

"Serene! Ssshhh!" She had blue eyes that could pull me into a trance, whereas my friend's were brown.

"I'm curious! You scarcely involve yourself in love! The last time you did, was when some idiot decided to give you a love letter! Even then you never gave an answer to them!" Serene protested. She had long blonde hair, and Serene's was dyed a light brown color.

"Hey! Don't drag that poor secret admirer of mine into this!"

"I won't if you tell me who your crush is," she bargained. That admirer of mine must've gotten a crush on someone else by now.

"No! Who knows what you'll do," I replied.

"No~" she whined. "I wanna know! I won't do anything, just tell me!"

"No!"

I have been avoiding a brown haired girl for quite awhile now. Which is fairly impressive since we've been best friends since forever. Which strikes other people as strange because I'm a guy and she's a girl. Although avoiding her was a challenge, I did benefit off of it. I managed to get closer to my crush. All thanks to Serene of course.
