I wake to the sun streaming in through the window. My eyes flutter open for a glimpse of my clock; seven o'clock. Shit! I'm late!
I jump out of my comfy bed and hop into a quick shower. After, I dress in my usual black skinny jeans and white tee shirt that my apron would cover. I apply little makeup and put my long brunette hair into a messy bun.
Looking into the mirror one last time, I run out the door with my keys and phone. I sprint down the stairs to the lobby, and out the door.
The air is crisp and cool. The wind is breezy but relaxing on my face as I dash down the streets of Paris to the bakery. My feet hit the pavement and jolt up to my knees. I am running so fast that I don'teven noticed my feet weren't even on the ground anymore. The busy street scenery is now a blur.
I didn't even realize that I'm running at super speed until I reached the bakery in record time. I didn't know I even had that power. They'd been growing recently and I don't know why. I used to just be able to control the weather, but now I can control the elements, run at super sonic speed, and more. I don't know how or why this is even happening.
As I open the doors to the bakery, the smell of pastries and yeast fill my nostrils.
"Evanna! Why are you late?!"my boss, Mrs. Colette hollers at me.
I take off my jacket and purse placing it on the counter. "I am so sorry Mrs. Colette! I over slept. I ran here as fast as I could, literally," I spit out, saying the last part under my breath.
"Well... Just don't be late again. This is a warning. Now get to work!" She yells in her thick French accent.
"Yes ma'am," I reply, heading straight to the back to get started.
Throughout the day, I work the register and bust tables, while also baking pastries and other things such as muffins, bread, and occasionally when someone orders it, broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl.
It is after nine in the evening before my shift is over. I am there for more than twelve hours. It is now dark out and the stars are glistening brightly.
"See you tomorrow Mrs. Colette!" I holler, leaving the bakery.
I walk out of the bakery to the crisp, cold breeze of November. I can't wait to see the Christmas lights around the city. The only thing is, I have no one to celebrate it with. It sucked being alone all the time.
Walking down the street, I see a crowd of teenage girls forming around the end of the sidewalk. There is screaming arising.
I turn around and start walking the other way. The screams gett louder and louder the further I walk away. Like they're following me.
I begin to cross the street, but I am knocked over by what felt like another person.
"Watch where you're going buddy!" I snap as I struggle to get free from underneath them.
"I am so so so sorry. I didn't mean to. I was just running away a from these girls and..." He trails on. Wait! I know that voice.
I turn around to face him. To face a carmel brown eyed Australian who lived in America for a short time. His hair is longer, and curlier. Boy do I love his lushish curls.
"Ashton?" I breathed.
(A/N) thank you all for reading the first chapter of my new story. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it into a fanfic and I am still not sure. Let me know what you think. Sorry about the usual errors.
