Regretful Love

Once upon a time,

I look into his eyes,

I saw warmth there,

Love & everything nice.

He smiles like my sunshine,

He has my heart and pride.

Holding my hand,

Off we went again,

We were one and the same.

He looks into my eyes,

I was his princess,

Diamond to his eyes.

But woe to the humane self,

The way I treated him wasn't well.

I took his love,

Took it for granted,

Emptied his patience tank,

Forgetting even to say my thanks.

I am a sinner,

I betrayed his love,

He wanted to leave,

I was not of his worth.
