"Hey, my name is Mackenzie. I'm fifteen years old and I am a little bit of an alchoholic." That's what I have to say everytime I go to my local Support Group. My mom would've put me in rehab, but she thought that I would somehow manage to get in trouble there. So instead, she put me in Support Group.
I used to forcefully go to the Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday sessions, but I somehow managed to have my mom only make me go to the one on Wednesday. I know it's only one session, but it still kind of feels like three of them in a way.
The group is for people who are alcoholic (like me), druggies, or anyone who just needs a bit of cheering up. Let's just say it's usually not so happy or cheery. To be honest it's pretty depressing.
Then for the rest of the week I usually just go out with my friends and go to pretty much anywhere we want to go. I mean I don't really have friends I can just sit and talk with. I've never really been able to make those kind of friends.
So that's how I ended up meeting my friends in sixth grade. As my mom said to our family theripist, "That's where it all went downhill. Well, in shopping carts." She didn't find that story funny. Let me explain though: In fifth grade two of my new friends and I went to the supermarket and we stole a shopping cart. Then we took the cart to the top of the highest hill in town. One of the two friend's and I got in the cart, then the other pushed us down. Long story short, it ended up with a trip to the hostpital and involved the police at my mother's door.
I have quite a few other stories like that. Long stories short, these also end with the police and minor tickets. But I think that it was worth it.
Authors note:
