Alexa POV

It was a Friday, after school, and I was getting ready to go to Lisa's house for a sleepover when my mum called me down the stairs
"Alexa!"
"Coming mum"
I made my way down stairs and into the kitchen to find my mum pacing around.
"Mum, is everything ok?" I asked, she sighed heavily before gesturing for me to sit down
"I have something to tell you. It's... time to tell you the truth" she said while avoiding eye contact
"Truth??... what truth?" I questioned
"Well it's about your farther" she looked up at me waiting for my reaction.
My dad left after I was born and if he didn't leave then all the bad things that happened in the past wouldn't of happened and my mum would be happy.
"What about that pathetic excuse of a father" I asked with obvious irritation in my voice
"He... He didn't leave us... we left him... for your protection" she said
"Can u stop pausing and say what you gotta say please" I sighed heavily
"S-sorry. Anyway I took you away from him.... and from your brothers and sister but it was for your protection... you see when you were born a lot people want to kill you because your special so our enemies wanted to trap and enslave you or kill you. Your father and I thought it would be better to take you away. We called you Alexa but your real name is Willow. We chose to call you Alexa because it means the one who protects mankind and it describes you perfectly. Sweetheart-"
"Who is he? Who is my farther?" I cut her off. I looked at her expectantly
" your farther is ... K-King Beck. King of Mångata, King of the water land" she said looking away from me
"Wait what.... I'm the Kings daughter but h-how?? does that make m-me and y-you"
"Yes I'm the real queen of Mångata and your the lost princess, not wendy" she said straightening her back. I got to say she does look like a real queen right now.
"What the fuck. Wait if your the queen and I'm the princess then who in the hell is sitting on our throne?"

"Ahh I was just getting to that bit, once I had left the castle with you in my arms a woman that goes by the name of Mara put a spell on the people of the kingdom to make them forget about me being their queen and made them think of me as your kidnapper" she stated
"What, no" I couldn't believe this
"Back to the point. I believe she is coming after us but I also believe she will go after your best friend, Lisa. Why, I'm not sure but when I was walking past her house a couple of days ago there was a guard looking into her house" she stopped and looked at me
"I wanted you to know this just in case anything bad happens. You've trained your whole life to become strong, so you can protect the people you love and to never feel weak or show your weakness ever again. I believe in you, remember that. You know how special you are, you don't just control the water like your father and I. You control all the elements...Now go, you have a sleepover with Lisa right? Go and protect her." She said pushing me at of the door after grabbing my bag
" Wait how do you expect me to leave you here alone after what you just told me" I protested
"There's no need to worry ok. I'm going to be fine. I can handle myself. I am the queen of Mångata you know. I highly doubt that anything will happen while you're gone as far as I can tell they were just keeping an eye on us for now. Now go have fun while you can. Remember no matter what happens I will always love you" was the last thing she said before closing the door in my face. I sighed and head over to Lisa's.

"I have a bad feeling about this" I thought

I'm standing in front of Lisa's front door contemplating wether or not to knock on the door. Then I remembered what my mum had said. She wanted me to have fun while I can so I'll try to do just that.

I knock in the door and a couple seconds later the door is swung open and I lock eyes with my best friend. She welcomed me with open arms and I couldn't help but to fall into her embrace.
"Hey girl how's it going?"
"Good. How are you?" I decided to not tell her yet. I don't want her to worry.
" I'm great, let's get this party started," she replied after pulling me into the house.

"Oh Alexa how are you lovely?" Lisa's mum, Kate, asked.
"I'm fine thank you and you?" I lied
"I'm ok thank you. Now you girls go upstairs and have fun, I'll shout you when dinner is ready" she said

Lisa nodded and dragged me upstairs and into her room.

We sat on her bed and started talking about random stuff. I'm glad I have a friend like Lisa, she cheers me up without knowing I'm down and take my mind of the things that are bothering me. I love her for that.

"Hey are you sure you're ok ? Its just that you dont seem it" Lisa questioned

"Yeah I'm ok I'm just tired. I couldn't sleep last night " I lied. Lieing is something I don't like doing but I have to. I don't want her worrying about me or about her and her families safety.

"Oh how come?" She asked

" you know with training and school, it's pretty stressful" I replied trying to avoid eye contact.

"... Well I know you'll be fine" she knows I'm lieing but she also knows it's better than to push me and that I'll tell her eventually.

After that we just did the stuff that most sleepovers have.
You know movie marathon, girl talk, talking about boys... Well Lisa talking about boys while I just listen.

I wake up with the feeling of regret, the feeling that my worst fear has come true.
