I wouldn't doubt myself like this usually, I was always certain that I had made the correct choice. But now, as I stared into the vast unknown of space..I have different thoughts. Might be wondering, how did I end up in space alone. My university, Saturns Space Academy (my friend and I had a few laughs over the name) ran a poll for all the graduates to be sent off to space to well, die. Apparently they wanted to 'test the human body of the harsh environment of space', anyway, lucky me the short kid that everyone hated, to be chosen to leave the earth forever. So after a entire year of poor training (the trainers talked behind my back about how I'd die on the first day) I was sent into space on the majestical F07125, easier to call it Foxtrot though. Anyway back to being in space, I tapped quickly over the buttons I had memorized forever ago. A panel slid up next to the keypad, exposing something wrapped in tin foil. I pulled it out, unwrapping the sandwich. Biting into the bread, I'd turn to the alarm system, the red icon flashing on the side. That's odd, it only did that if something was moving outside. The next comet or asteroids wouldn't come by for the next few days, and supplies had been delivered a week ago. I'd tap the panel, a camera coming up for the side of the ship.
"Nothing is there.." I'd found myself mumbling, the camera scanning left and right. A screech blared through the speakers by the screen, something flying past the camera. I'd watch the screen go to static. What. I'd drop my sandwich, spilling toppings and mayo onto the floor. I'd tap at panel, attempting to get it to work, nothing.
"Come in? I have a broken camera up here there might be something aboard, over." I'd speak quickly into the small microphone on the panel. A blaring ran through, red warnings popping on the screen. "Creature on Board, Creature On Board, notify the.." I'd zone out, trembling. I'd slam my hand on the cliche big, red button, sounds of vents and doors closing powering over the now quiet alarms.
"Jesus.." I'd mumble, putting my weight on a arm as I place it on the panel, my fingers brushing the edge of some buttons. My eyes flew open, something was moving, tapping of claws against the metal floor. A piece of the door tore off exposing a small, raccoon-sized yellow creature to my view. Purple spots and striped dotted its bright yellow fur, a luscious tail dragging behind. More began to hop through the hole, soon a large group was in front of me. They opened their mouths, all suddenly screeching. Their bodies began to melt, merging slowly. The new body of them all was taller, torn skin and sunken what could be eyes, a black tail swing behind, its jaw unhinged, stretching out. It screamed and lunged.
(The creature is based of a drawing I made one day!)
