Within a establishment, which reeked of booze and smoke, there was a rather plentiful amount of guests. Varying from loud, black out drunks to quiet and secluded figures at the bar. Among all the loud ruckus the customers were making, the sound of the front door creaked. A large group of mobsters pooled inside which left even some of the loudest of drunks to fall silent in pure terror. Don Dee was the old man that lead the mob. He is well known and considered 'a big fish' by many in the city. Don Dee wasn't the most interesting sight though. Through the front entrance a waft of red smoke weaved through the other mobsters and rose to the bar's ceilings. There was a rather large figure that pushed its way inside. Soon the humans would soon realize this 'person' was a monster; a skeleton at that. It was /veerry/ uncommon for a monster to be around these parts. If a monster did so happen to be in this part of the city they'd usually be killed on sight. The only reason this monster in particular hadn't been shot already was his company with the Don along with his large and daunting stature. The monster had a rather large cigar tucked between his teeth which was the source of the ominous red smoke that began to fill the bar with its stench. He let out low huff, releasing some of the smoke through his nasal cavity. His skeletal fingers were laced with gold and jewelry which represented his grimy and crime ridden wealth.
The skeleton lazily let his body ease into one of the cushioned seat. The Don and all his henchmen were small compared to this bulky mass of a monster. His golden tooth glimmered in the dim light as the men around him began talking buisness. The monster wasn't too fond of buisness talks but he had to endure it...for the time being, anyway. He smiled wickedly at the daredevils who even considered staring at him which swiftly shut them down. The small woman walked past the bar, turning back to look through the glass. Her golden necklace was something worth great value, and one she couldn't afford to lose. She took it off, tucking it into her pocket and walking inside slowly with uneasy look, as though was unsure of wanting to be there. She made her way past some people to the bar to sit but decided to stand, seeming as though ready to run out if there was a need to. The bulky skeleton angled his gaze to the entrance. He noticed a young lady who had nervously entered the bar. She had snow white hair and her form was beautifully curved along with striking blue eyes. The monster took another drag from his cigar and let the red smoke pool from his teeth. The red smoke came in curls and odd patterns. His gaze was intense and his glowing, red orbs in his sockets seemed to rake over this woman's body with intrigue. The Don then asked him a question which the skeleton answered briefly. He had buisness to attend to. Yet, despite this, the monster always seemed to have time to stare at her. He didn't make any movements or indications he would do anything to her but his aura definitely oozed wicked amusement. She grabbed a few drinks, leaning over counter a little. Unaware of the stares she unbuttoned the top six buttons of her shirt, letting the heat consume her. She smiled faintly to herself, before running her fingers through her hair softly. Her blue eyes shining, while she looked down shy and nervous. The skeleton kept watching this young woman. She definitely was a bit ballsy to be here by herself, let alone be doing the things she was doing. He noticed some hungry glances the men around him gave her. The monster assumed his own stare seemed that way. Despite this, he countinued staring intently. He took the cigar from his teeth and flicked the ashes into an over-used ash tray. He was only partially listening to the Don's buisness meeting at this point. She looked over at the bar tender, her eyes shifting nervously but she remained slightly calm. She bit her lip softy, closing her eyes halfway. She tapped her fingers on the counter gently but enough for her to hear a calm melody. The skeleton, after a long while of staring, was finally heard his name mentioned within the business meeting. The Don was glaring up at the monster,"Sans! Did you hear me?" The old man's voice was shrill and uncomfortable to listen to. His tone was also littered with pure and complete disgust for him.Sans smiled cluelessly and with a hint of humor in his voice he claim,"Say that again, I wasn't listenin'." Don Dee scowled his ugly, wrinkled face at the monster and hissed,"Your job tomorrow is to make a trade with the Never Borns...I expect you to make it run smoothly." Sans waved his hand slightly in dismissal,"I got it, boss." He watched as Dee turned his attention back to the other mafia members. She looked outside and looked for an open exit, one she could get out without pushing her way through. She sighed to herself and buttoned her shirt back up. Sans tucked the cigar back between his teeth and took a long drag. The red smoke curled around his fangs and skull. The skeleton crossed his hands together as he eerily went back to watching the woman at the bar who looked like she wanted to get out in a haste. He smiled sharply and patiently waited for her to leave, it was then he would introduce himself. She worked her way around people, trying not to touch anyone. After making it outside she walks calmly, her eyes shifting nervously though she held her head high, trying to gain the confidence to go back. She pulled her golden necklace out of her pocket, putting it back and touched the small diamonds in the golden chain, she walked more, her hips swaying naturally as she started to walk without worrying as much as before. Sans huffed and stood to his feet. He briefly excused himself, "I'll be but a moment, boss." The skeleton shifted his form out the front of the bar. He took in the cold, fresher air as he peered around. When he finally spotted the little lady from inside the bar his toothy smile curled. The skeleton was a bit behind and so he used one of his 'short cuts' so he was just shy from walking beside her. With his rolling and smooth voice he commented, "Hey, dollface...what's a little thing like you doin' 'round these parts?" He smelled heavily of cigar smoke and if you could get past it, faintly of blood. She jolted and stopped in her tracks with slight fear, she looked up at him. "Just exploring, I don't have much of a place to see." Her voice was soft and silky, hiding her necklace casually, once the scent of smoke hit her she blinked to stop her eyes from watering. She looked up at the skeleton. Sans hummed and his red orbs seemed to burn into her. He lowly chuckled as he flicked the cigar ashes onto the sidewalk,"Well, this city isn't known for its sight seein'." The skeleton tipped his head downward, "Mosta' those men in there prolly woulda' scooped you up and played with things they shouldn't play with." The monster made eye contact with her and took a small drag from his cigar, "'Course...I wouldn't blame them. We can't help but admire pretty things." He moved his gaze along her body as he lightly brushed one of his jeweled fingers along her jaw line. Sans made sure not to make his touch linger for too long. She looked straight at him before turning her head away shyly to hide the small, barely visible blush that dusted her cheeks. She turns her gaze to the sky, looking at it without problem as it makes her skin glisten a little. She looks him over completely, deciding on whether to say anything or not. "You should get back to your boss..don't know how well he likes if ya' just walk off to talk to someone like me." She looked down at her necklace sadly then took it off and gave it to him. "You can get good money for that." She smiled faintly. Sans scratched his chin as a sly smile formed on his face,"He may not like me talkin' to anyone but he can't do anything about it." The skeleton then looked at the necklace the young woman was offering him. His 'eyebrows' furrowed a bit as he observed it. It probably would make a pretty penny but Sans instead handed it back to her,"I'm not in the need of money, doll. You can pawn that for yourself." He briefly wiggled his fingers which were riddled with gold and jewls. The monster peered over his shoulder at the bar then flitted his red orbs back to the pale woman, "Now, before I forget, I'd like to introduce myself." Sans held out one of his hands to the woman,"M' name's Sans, Sans the skeleton." Sans had a plaster smile on his face as he added,"May I grace to hear your name, doll?" "I'm Ripley...but people often call Dove." She smiles up at him politely, before putting her necklace back on. "I walk along these streets a lot, in case ya' ever want to meet up." She smiled. She looked at his eyes curiously but ignored the uneasy feeling of his size rather than anything else. "Dove it is then." The skeleton cooed calmly. He twirled his wrist and pulled out another cigar,"I regular that bar you were just drinkin' at. I'm certain we'll see eachother more often, hm?" Before she could answer, Sans walked past her in the opposite direction of the bar,"Seeya 'round, little Dove." The monster turned into a dead-end alley and used one of his shortcuts. He moved back to the Don's table and eased his body back into his chair. The old man angled his head at the monster and said,"What took you so long?" Sans vaguely answered,"Just doin' monster business." He lit the new cigar and tucked it his jaws. She tried not to laugh as she began walking again, she could hear a scream coming across the street. She looked at the busy street and ran across, almost getting hit multiple times. She looked in the alley and saw a man with three women. She pulls out her gun and begins to say something but decides not to, the man turns and shoots her in her chest and she fires and it kills the man, she walks to the women with her chest bleeding rapidly. She motioned for them to go and they ran down the sidewalk to their house. When the mob's buisness meeting was done Sans was one of the first to leave the bar. He took a deep breath and he could smell a strong scent of blood nearby. Knowing the bang from outside was most-likely a gunshot put him in unease. The skeleton crossed the street to investigate where the smell was coming from. He turned into an alleyway and noticed Ripley bleeding from her chest profusely. The monster flinched in shock as he rushed to her side. He didn't say anything as he analyzed her wound. Sans quickly picked her up in a bridal style and said,"Sorry, little Dove, but we're going to have to make a quick shortcut." Instantaneously they were inside a well furnished home. The skeleton gently rested Dove onto a couch and kneeled. He hovered his hand over her wound as he tried to heal her,"I'm not a novice in green magic, Dove. I wont be able to heal you completely." "You don't have to heal me, I-I'm fine." She lies, smiling up at him and gently pushing his hand away gently and sitting up. "If I say that I can take a hit, I can." She lied and sat up. Sans let out a quiet growl and says sternly,"Stop being stubborn and stop moving." He uses his other hand to press her shoulders back into a laying position while he used his magic again. The skeleton continued to heal her till he saw the bullet begin to reveal itself at which he swiftly gripped and pulled out. He flicked the crimson sphere to the side and said,"Lay there and /don't/ move." Sans walked to a kitchen and scowered through a cabinet which he had a small first aid kit. He returned to Ripley and sat down as he opened the kit. Carefully he applied some alcohol to her wound and immediately afterwards bandaged her chest tightly. She tried to sit up while looking him. "I want to get up. I'm ok, I'm fine see? And that stings." She sits up quickly, accidentally kissing his cheek. She jumped back quickly. Sans huffs and says,"Fine, since you're patched up—" He flinches when he feels her lips hit his cheekbone. The skeleton froze for a moment before eyeing her in a bit of surprise. When he realized it was an accident he huffed and rose to his feet, not thinking anymore of the matter. The monster cleared his throat and asked,"Why did ya' get shot anyway, little Dove?" "I was savin' people...Grayson got what he deserved..he was the reason I gave up having someone by my side. Abusive punk, tryin' to get me to be his. Was only a matter of time before I killed him anyway." She smiled softly and got up. "Not my fault he's like that..his corpse is still in the alleyway." Sans rose a eyebrow and flipped a unlit cigar through his fingers before finally making them still. He swiftly lit a match on his hand and lit the cigar with it. The skeleton hummed in thought before commenting,"So you're certain he's dead? He won't get up walkin' and report ya'?"
The monster gave her a questioning look as he sat across from her. He changed his posture to be more relaxed as he took a drag from the cigar, puffing out more red smoke he then added,"Those people you were savin' too...you're sure they won't report ya' to get a quick buck?" She shrugs "if I were to get reported it don't matter..I have my people, ya' know if I could I would hire ya' but I don't want someone like you to die. You've helped me so far, I'll still probably hide with Blind, Sly and Brick. Can't trust a stranger to not rat me out." She smiles sweetly up at him. Sans returned the smile with a disingenuous one,"I think it would be best if I'd drop dead myself, heh." He moved the subject after released plumes of smoke from his sockets,"And I'm already stone-cold hired, Doll face, so it wouldn't matter." Sans thinks for a moment then flits his gaze down at Ripley," 'Can't trust a stranger', eh? But ya' trust me?" She smiles softly. "I trust you to save my skin, not keep me a secret." She smiled up at him. She kisses his cheek softly in friendly way. "You ever been in love before?" She grabs a newspaper and sits back reading it. Sans' eyebrows furrowed at her response till she kissed him in which his expression softened. He had a faint red hue on his cheekbones. Despite his partially flustered appearance he bluntly asked,"What does that question have to do with anything...?" He eyed her as she read a news paper. The skeleton took a long drag from his cigar and sighed roughly, the curling smoke rising from his slightly agape mouth. "Not much.." flashbacks clouded her vision. "I should get going.." she walked out calmly, walking down the middle of the road, walking to a smaller building, she looked at the three humans, her heart racing faster as she brushed past them into a large building. She touched the sign softly, her gaze shifted. A lazy young male opened one eye and looked up at her, the male in the corner was smoking a cigar. Sans watched Ripley as she rose and set the news paper aside,"Yeah...seeya 'round." He let her leave and his sockets turned empty when he heard the door close. The skeleton smoked his cigar heavily and was done with it quicker than usual. He flicked the bud into a ashtray before standing and locking the door. Sans huffed as he leaned on the door, resting his head on the worn surface. She looked at everyone and sighed while laying back happily. Three women walk by, setting letter at door. The women walked to his house and set a invitation for a meeting at the bar. She opened the door and read through it before walking to the bar. Sans heard someone at the door. What he thought were womans voices seemed to get closer and stop at his door. The skeleton heard something slid underneath his door. Sans noticed it was a letter, an invitation to be specific, that wanted him at the bar. The monster was hesitant but he sighed and tucked the letter into his waist coat. He grabbed his keys and went out the door, locking it behind himself. Sans slid the keys into his pocket as he made a quick shortcut to the bar. He looked at the sign to make sure he was at the right one before heading inside. Sans yawned as he looked around lazily. He decided to sit at one of the bigger tables just incase multiple people came. The skeleton tapped his fingers on the table in rythmic manner as he patiently waited. She walked inside calmly, sitting down and looking around, unbuttoning her shirt again. When Sans noticed Ripley enter the bar he huffed. She must've been in on this somehow. The skeleton let out a low sigh, his tapping becoming slower as he grew impatient. She looked around though nobody came, she went to the restroom to check her makeup, her breath catching in her chest softly. Sans' gaze trailed after Ripley as she entered the women's room. His hands clenched a bit as he averted his gaze a small scowl coming onto his expression. The monster rubbed his temples a bit in frustration. She bent over the mirror then completely unbuttoned her shirt, looking at her scars and bruises. She stared at herself quietly. Sans took a cigar from his waistcoat and lit it. With how much he was smoking it looked like he was a chain smoker. Regardless of this he puffed on his cigar a bit as he eyed the bathroom door silently. She fixed her hair, rushing her fingers through it softly. She was looking in the mirror at her own eyes, wondering what could be intriguing. She let her fingertips trace the sides of the sink, her soul began glowing softly. Sans could feel a strong magical force coming from the bathroom. It was familiar. It usually meant that someone died or they were looking at their soul. Humans couldn't really look at their soul though so it started to make him a little nervous. She sighed to herself and stopped the thoughts, making it stop. She began humming then quietly singing to herself, "Sunday is gloomy My hours are slumberless Dearest the shadows I live with are numberless Little white flowers Will never awaken you Not where the black coach Of sorrow has taken you Angels have no thoughts Of ever returning you Would they be angry If I thought of joining you Gloomy Sunday..." her voice was quiet and shy but softer than her normal voice. She finishes up, walking out of the bathroom. She notice the large skeleton and walks to him with a kind smile, she slowly sat next to him. "Who are ya' waiting for?" Sans heard the little lady come up to him and he grumbled under his breath. He turned to her with empty sockets as she sat down next to him,"I got a note at my door...thought you'd know about it." Sans let out some red smoke from his nasal cavity as he huffed,"Why're you 'ere?" He said, "If it was something 'bout coming to this bar then I'm here for the same reason..." she pulled out a small book with a few names in it, she checked off one of the names while smiling to herself. "Don't see why I would want to come here without a reason..." she replied. Sans snickers as he angled his head to the side, "Heh... There are many reasons to come ta' bars, doll face." He took a drag from his cigar as he glanced at the book, "What're ya' markin' off?" He said, Ripley looked up at him. "Just my most recent killing.... I still have forty people to kill." She tries not to laugh. "Anyway....what's your plan for after the Don dies? Look for another boss..? Take his place...? Go on the run...? Or get killed at his funeral?" She looked up at him with a sweet but daring look in her eyes. Sans glared at her with unamusement,"I don't work for Don Dee. I'm hired by a different Don...We're workin' with 'im." He taps his golden tooth a bit as he flicked some of the cigar's ashes away. "Good..he's a real prick.." she leaned back, putting her feet on the table while she closed her eyes. "Most men are...but that just means I have a higher advantage." She smiled. Sans rubs his temples a bit,"Ah, yes. All men are pigs, right?" He grits his teeth a bit as he wasn't pleased with her obvious distaste. Sans takes another hit from his cigar,"Is an advantage telling a man you have said advantages?" He chuckles a bit,"That's poor planning, doll." He said coldly. "Ok..your not a man..your a..a um..you know what you are..." she looked at them as a dark blush spread across her cheeks. "Also it's not like I would try to use it on you, I get along fine with you..." she looked down and said with a hint of sorrow and curiosity in her voice, "plus I bet you could have any woman in the city you wanted.." Sans flicked a bit of the cigars ashes to the side,"Mmhmm... Imma monster. In a human city with women who sneer at me because of what I am." He huffs out red smoke again as he smiles widely,"You wouldn't know anything like that would ya', little doll?" He looks back towards Ripley and says,"Well...with a woman like you...I'm certain you get alot of stares." She looks up at him, forcing herself to stop blushing. "I do..but it's from humans..humans have body's that I have to worry about..you look like you just stuffed a few pillows under your clothes for protection." Sans laughed at her small comment,"Well, that isn't pillows, doll. It's magic." He then looks back at Ripley and adds,"And I could snap ya' like a twig if I wanted to...I would worry more about me than humans, heh." He glares at her with empty sockets a bit of irritation in his expression. She looked away trying to hide a smile, she saw a man harassing a woman who was trying to push him away. She got up and walked to the man while smiling, he turned, glaring at Her fiercely. She pushed him back against the counter, smiling softly before grabbing him roughly and snapping his arms and breaking his legs until the flesh was falling off the bone. She grabbed the bleeding man and took him outside then dug the heel of her shoe into his neck until he died, the previous screams could be heard from a block away. She through him into a dumpster in an old alleyway before walking back inside and sitting back down, with blood covering patches of her hands. Sans took a drag from his cigar as he watched silently. He didn't much care and a look of disgust filled his face. The skeleton rose from his seat and grabbed the bottle of whiskey the man had orders before. Sans quickly chugged the bottle before setting it to the side. He looked over at the woman who still looked in shock. Sans patted her back gently and said,"You might want to make yourself scarse, ma'am..." He pointed with his thumb toward the entrance. She responded by curtly nodding and darting out the bar. The skeleton turned his attention to the back door, pure revulsion filled him. His smile faded into a frown as he sat back at the table and smoked from his cigar again. She got up and stretched, cracking her knuckles. "I should get back to my place, their probably worried about me." She walked to the same building as before, sitting on couch with blank expression. Sans scowled a bit but didn't respond. He looked down at his ringed fingers and snickered silently to himself. The skeleton made a mistake saving Ripley... or perhaps he didn't. He drank a whiskey from time to time, relit new cigars, and thought heavily. Sans rose from his seat at the late hours of the night as he headed out of the bar and made a quick shortcut to his home. He let out a long sigh as he turned on some lights, sneering at the bright fluorescents. She fell asleep on the couch with a whiskey bottle in her hand. Her dreams became nightmares but she refused to wake up, letting the darkness absorb her. Sans heard the front door open and noticed his taller brother walk in. He then slowly asked,"Long night?" Papyrus responded with his naturally loud voice,"Yes, unfortunately they didn't have enough men to carry twenty loads of drugs." Sans made a small hiss,"Ssss—Damn bro. Sorry 'bout that. I'm workin' tomorrow at the tradin' gig with ya' if that makes ya' feel better." Papyrus growled and said,"Oh yes...Completely. I'm going to bed." Sans slightly waved his hand,"'Night bro." The shorter skeleton watched as his taller brother headed into one of the rooms and close the door. He gently flicked the lights off and flopped onto the couch. Sans sighed as he stared into the darkned room. He couldn't sleep. His thoughts were keeping him awake. She woke up and got up slowly, looking out the window before walking down a dim hallway. She couldn't stop thinking, mostly about Sans. Every time a new thought about him crossed her mind she couldn't help but blushes and smile. She walked into a small room, large Dobermans and Rottweilers sat, looking at her with alert. She walked towards two who were laying down. She pet them softly and touches their stomachs gently, smiling to herself. The thought of her one day having kids crossed her mind and she looked down as she continue petting the females.
