A young Silva was summoned to his father's room. "Young master! Master Zeno has asked you to meet him in his room." The Butler informed Silva.

Silva nodded, and he was off. Disappearing with blur, leaving behind the nervous butler. Silva slowed to a steady walk when he was about halfway there. What could his father want with him? It could be about the matter of taking up the family business, but wouldn't that be better discussed at dinner? Silva shrugged, it didn't matter, he'd find out soon enough anyway.

Finnaly he reached his father's door. Tap tap tap Silva knocked. "Finnaly here eh!? Took you long enough. Come in!" A voice grumbled from inside.

Silva pushed open the heavy door with little difficulty. Inside Zeno sat at a low table with two cups of tea. He gestured for Silva to join him. Silva stiffly made his way over.

After a few minutes of drinking tea in silence Silva finnaly spoke. "So...father, why did you call me?" He asked.

Zeno places down his cup and sighs in content. "Yes...I suppose it's about time I tell you... As you know, soon enough you'll take over the family business." Silva nods.

"However, you'll need a wife." Silva froze. "After great consideration I think I've found you the best candidate. In other words, a fiance." Zeno finished.

Silva didn't know exactly how to feel. It didn't change much, he had known he was going to need a wife for quite some time now. But that didn't necessarily help the shock all to much. Silva sighed. He could only hope that his fiance, whoever she may be wouldn't bring trouble, or be annoying. In all honestly the young man took the news rather calmly.

He waited for Zeno to continue. "I'm sure your curious about her aren't you? Her name is Kikyo Yazuki. The Yazuki family's third eldest daughter." Silva stiffened. The Yazuki family? One of the three largest mafia families? "I think you'll find her rather nice. She has a good backround, and she's beautiful." Zeno described the young man's fiance.

Silva nodded. "Father..." He started.

"Yes? Hurry up!" Zeno interrupted.

Silva hesitated. "What if she gets in the way...I mean what if she's not a suitable marriage candidate..." Silva inquired, slightly hesitant.

"Well of course, if you really don't like her we can cancel the marriage. However, at least meet Kikyo. We've arranged for you both to meet tomorrow evening. I'm sure you'll like her." Zeno answered.

Silva let out a small sigh of relief that he didn't even know he was holding. The sudden engagement had affected him more than he thought. "Thank you." Zeno merely nodded.

The pair finished their tea in silence. Silva placed his cup down. "May I be excused?" He asked. He did, after all, have much to do before him and his fiance's first meeting tomorrow.

"Of course, don't spend time with your dear father." Zeno joked.

Silva offered a stiff smile. "I do apologize, I have much to do." He responded. Zeno huffed, mumbling something about jokes. Silva didn't quite understand, why would his father be talking about jokes?

"Hmph, go on then!" Zeno huffed, waving the young man out.

Silva nodded, and quickly made his way out the door.

As Silva walked down the halls, he wondered about his soon-to-be wife. Will she be nice? Annoying? Smart? Silva hoped she wouldn't get in the way.

~

Beautiful was an understatement. When Silva first saw his wife-to-be he found himself near hypnotized by her unearthly beauty.

She came dressed in a purple Kimono, made of the best silk. Yet despite that, her own features stood out the most. Long ebony hair that could compare to the darkest obsidian. Silky smooth skin. Ruby red lips. But most of all, those eyes...

Her rouge eyes glistened a thousand shades of pink, their glimmer outmatched diamonds. They were cold eyes, comparing to a blizzard. Yet, beneath the hard exterior there was a small and gentle tone, encapsulating the gentle hues of rose quartz.

Silva found himself lost in those eyes. Quickly realizing his mistake he shook himself out of the daze. "A pleasure to finnaly meet you Kikyo." Silva bowed.

"Likewise Silva." She bowed. The movement was with the grace of an angel, yet, there was an undertone of tension, unease, in her gesture. As if she was putting on a facade.

The butlers pulled out two chairs, one for Silva, the other for Kikyo. They both stand awkwardly at the small table, they were close, but the tense atmosphere made them seem farther apart.

The two young adults started eating, both stiff, and more than a little akward. Finnaly, Silva decided that he could no longer stand the tense atmosphere, and decided to try and lift the tension.

"So umm...What do you think of the family?" He attempted to break the ice.

"They're nice." Kikyo answered, not breaking her cold demeanor, much to Siva's disappointment.

He tries once again. "What do you think of the food?" Silva inquired.

"It's satisfactory." Once again, much to Silva's greif, she refused to continue conversation. Silva almost wanted to sigh in defeat.

"You can be yourself...You don't have to put up a front..." Silva stated. In an attempt to hopefully put Kikyo at ease.

"I do." Kikyo responded.

Needless to say, they finished that dinner in silence.

Kikyo was about to leave, however Silva stopped her. "Before you go, may I show you something?" Silva requested.

Kikyo paused for a second, before stiffly nodding. Silva smiled. The next second Kikyo was in his arms. She let out a little yelp of suprise, before quickly covering her mouth with a hand. Silva chuckled at the action. "Ready?" He questioned. Kikyo nodded.

Silva's grin widened. And they were off, out the door. Before Kikyo even realized what was happening they, or rather he, was already leaping up the mountain. Past trees, boulders, meadows, and rocks, they finnaly reached the top.

Silva gently lifted Kikyo down, onto stable footing. They were at the very top of Kukuroo mountain. Above them the sky shone with millions of bright stars, making it look like a field of gems. Below you could see for miles on end, mountains, forest, and splotches of dim light from towns and cities.

But perhaps the most surprising of all... "Roses?" Kikyo muttered in suprise. All around them were wild roses, red roses. They shined under the bright lunar light, standing out from the dull grey ground.

Finnaly adjusting to the dim night light, Kikyo looked around. She gasped. Finally showing emotion through a cracked mask. "It's beautiful!" She exclaimed. Her face lighting up in delight. Her body relaxed, no longer riddled with tension. Suddenly she covered her mouth. "I-I mean...Umm..." Kikyo stuttered, embarrassed.

Silva laughed. "H-hey!" Kikyo protested, her face flushing red with embarrassment.

Silva wiped away a tear. "No no! Not like that, it's just, your much better as yourself!" He explained. "You should be yourself more often, your really nice." Silva stated.

Kikyo flushed, for an entirely different reason. "Really?" She questioned, not quite believing it.

"Yep!" He proclaimed. Offering her a large grin.

"O-Oh..." Kikyo stuttered. "L-lets umm...go back now..." She requested.

"Sure, sure." Silva chuckled.

Once agin sweeping her up in his arms they went back down the mountain. Now the stood apart, Kikyo was back to her mask, and Silva wasn't as open as he was earlier, but somehow, the akward and tense atmosphere that encapsulated them before, was no longer present.

"It was a pleasure to meet you Silva." Kikyo bowed. The same elegant gesture, yet, unlike the first time, it no longer held the same unease.

"I could say the same to you." Silva returned the movment. If one looked closely enough at Kikyo's face, they might be able to discern the traces of a smile.

Kikyo departed, and Silva returned to the empty stone halls of the Zoldyck manor. Zeno appeared beside him. "So? What do you think of her?"He questioned.

Silva thought for a moment, before smiling. "I think it'll work out just fine."
