•"Fayth Winter?" A small voice from behind me spoke. I shook with fear, what had happened, I was the one at blame.
I tore a shard of glass from my hand yelping in pain as the tears once again rolled down my cheeks. I sat on my knees looking at my hands.
Covered in a layer of deep red blood crusted over. I took a sparing glance up to the terrible sight in front of me. Fire licked at anything it could get a hold of. Water built in my eyes and I cast my stare to my hands once more.•
"Fayth? C'mon Fayth I know you can hear me! FAYTH!" I awoke to Tara, my best friend shaking my shoulder roughly.
"Tara...?" I groggily took in my surroundings.
A party.
"Oh shit! Tara! What the hell am I here for!" I ripped away from the blanket with clothing still attached to my body, thankfully. I shouldn't be here, actually, no, I couldn't be here.
Without giving Tara time to explain I ran to the entry way retrieving my shoes and my keys. I felt for my phone but it wasn't in my shorts pockets.
"Tara, where the hell is my phone!?" I whisper-yelled across the sea of hormonal teenage sleeping bodies .
She looked up and held out her hand, but she frowned and pulled it back to herself.
"Hey, Fay, who is this picture of?" She locked her gorgeous brown eyes to my plain blue ones.
Shit.
"Can I have my phone please, Tara?" I just ignored her curious look as she approached and set my phone in the palm of my hand. I immediately relaxed under the metallic touch.
I quickly gave her a tight smile before running out of the house.

"Fayth." A dimd voice reached my ears calling me out of my sleep.
"Time to get ready for school." I recognized the voice that belonged to Denis.
"Yeah, yeah." I waved my hand at her, signaling for her departure.
I quickly slipped in the shower and got dressed in the school uniforms. Dabbing on a hint of mascara, I made my way to the dinning hall where kids ran around aimlessly.
"Oh! Fayth! Fayth!" I looked over to see Kk jumping up and down enthusiastically. I gave her a small wave before entering the kitchen, where everything was hustle and bustle for the cooks.
"Oh, Fayth dear, here is your lunch money." Clove, one of the cooks, my personal favorite. She's my mother figure. I've looked up to her since I got here and I haven't lost one ounce of admiration for the years that I've been here.
"And don't forget you have a math test to study for, no more flunked tests, okay?" She handed the money over and looked at me with 'sympathetic' written on her features.
"No more flunked tests." I said with confidence that I knew I didn't actually have. She seemed to approve any way and let me get on with my day.

"Fayth, this is the 4th test that you've gotten a C- or lower, is everything all right at home? Are you struggling in any way, shape or form this this course? Becau..." I quickly shut her down with a ice cold glare. I didn't need this. I couldn't attend college any way so what was the point?
"I'm fine." I got up and shuffled out the door heading to lunch. I basically ran to my locker and grabbed the lunch I had bought with my money.
At a brisk pace I went past the cafeteria where mostly everyone ate, and quietly made my way to the music room. Once I shut the door I made my way over to the only instrument that mattered.
Piano.
I sat in front of it with out laying a single finger on it.
And that's how I ate my lunch. Just staring are a simple instrument that just happened to be killing me on the inside.

"Hey Fayth! Are you coming to the performance tonight?" She yelled happily while trotting into the dinning room with a sparkly white fringe dress and red hair curled to perfection.
"Yeah, I'm driving you guys." I replied with a shrug. It beats me how she ever likes the instrument.
"Let's go then!" She ran out to the car. I followed laughing at her antics.
But reality hit.
We didn't make it on time to her performance.
In fact, we didn't make it at all.•
