The nights were always dark and cold. This one was different, it was warm and delightful but dark and eerie. I knew something bad was going to happen something bad always happens. The sidewalk in the park was damp with the falling rain. I reached my apartment and froze. The front door stood wide open. This either meant intruders or the one person I had been running from for the past 5 years had finally found me. I slowly walked through the door, the lights were off. I turned on the hall light to see my bedroom door open. "Shirt" I whispered under my breath. He's here I know he is. I grabbed my backpack that had the essentials in case this happened again. I ran out the front door and down the street to my car. I got in a drove for what felt like hours. I pulled up to a hotel and booked a room. I walked in and threw my stuff on the bed. I headed to the bathroom and showered. I pulled on a solid black T-shirt and white pajama pants. I sat on the bed on my phone scrolling through Instagram.
Minutes later he was there standing in my room watching me.
"Hello Honey!" he said as if he was angry with me but I can't blame him.
"Hello, Father," I said blandly, "How did you find me?"
"I've always known where you were I just never had a reason to need you back in the kingdom."
"Okay, then what are you here for?"
"You."
Right as he finished saying his last word I passed out.
I awoke in my old bed in my old room, in an old kingdom, with an old king. The room looked the same as when I left bland and boring. My maid Mary walked in with my breakfast tray. She looked excited that I was back even though I really didn't want to be here. She brought the tray over and set it down. It consisted of chocolate chip pancakes and fruit. I thanked her and dismissed her.
I walked out of my room and down to my father's office.
"Good Morning!" He stated
"Where is mom?"
"She isn't here anymore she left and then died somewhere in the human realm. That's why you're here. You are taking over the kingdom."
