Once upon a time there was a little soul...
It flew through the universe and was happy. Happy because it was there, simply because it existed. The little soul was very happy because everything here was incredibly beautiful, so peaceful, so "clear"– simply divine.
It flew from one place to the other – as quick as a thought. It had barely imagined being somewhere, when it was already there. That's the way traveling worked here. Sometimes it made it pretty dizzy as it was still a quite inexperienced soul. Because of that, it preferred to ride a comet's tail from time to time to enjoy the slowness.
It wouldn't have known that it was that happy if it hadn't taken a rest on a star sometimes. There it did it's favorite thing: watching the humans on earth.
It had not been on earth yet. It didn't dare to as it thought the humans to be somewhat peculiar. She often asked herself why the humans lived the way they did.
So far it had avoided to ask another, older, soul on that topic, although they all were always very kind and lovely with it. But every time it sat on the stars, it's curiosity grew bigger and bigger.
"So" – it suddenly heard a voice.
"Are you here again to wonder about the humans?"
Surprised, the little soul took a look around and discovered another soul. Obviously the little soul had been so lost in its thoughts that it hadn't noticed this other soul.
"Well, hmm – yes" said the little soul – "how did you know?"
"I've seen you sitting on the stars before and I listened to your thoughts" said the other soul with a smile.
"You can hear my thoughts?"
"Sure" said the other soul. "You can do that as well. All souls can"
"Really? What do I have to do to hear you?"
"Nothing. You just have to trust that you can do it, Shall we try?"
"Yeah, sure" said the little soul enthusiastically and listened attentively.
The older soul was silent and thought: "Shall we watch the humans together for a while? I see that you have a lot of questions. Maybe I can help!"
"Yeah, sure" cried the little soul and it was hopping up and down like a small child. It was so happy that it would finally learn something about the humans. "But first we will practice the mind reading, ok?"
"I've said nothing" said the other soul and grinned.
"Wow – really?" said the little soul. "That wasn't difficult."
"Yes – nothing is really difficult if you believe in yourself."
"Really?"
"Really!"
"Come; sit down beside me – what's your name?"
"My name's Woida and what's yours?"
"Mmmm, I don't have a name" said the little soul somewhat shy. "Nobody has given me a name."
"But you can choose your name yourself! Who would you like to be?"
"I don't know. I can't think of one that suits me! Must I have a name?"
"Well, to know who you are needs a little experience."
"Experience?"
"Oh, I see. You haven't been around a lot, have you? Experience can be made on earth for example. But that's not very important at the moment. Maybe we'll come up with a name you like later. May I call you Nuova in the meantime? It means Rookie - the new one!"
