February 2017 - A Year and a Half Ago - Asher's POV
"Come to church with me! Please," Brinely begged, pulling out her puppy dog eyes.
"No, no, and no," I repeated for the billionth time. I will never step foot into a church ever again.
"I know it holds bad memories for you, but I promise my church doesn't condone anything your father did, at all," she reasoned.

"Promise me that if you ever step foot in a church again that it will be with me," she whispered, searching my eyes as if she was looking for something.
I looked at her skeptically, "yes," I said and then kissed her quickly so couldn't say anything else.
