My name is Audrey Lux. I am in my eighteenth year of life. I'm a senior at Elliot High School and have a long term relationship with Evan Lois. My mother and father are happily married. I have a little sister named Felicia. My older brother Daren died three years ago because he was DUI. It was sad that he died, but at least he crashed into a tree and not a person. I have a bulldog named Pringles and a hamster named Madame Pumpernickel. My family and I live in a single family home right outside of New York City. It's about a forty minute drive to the center of it.
This isn't a story. It's a recollection of Life. I was lucky to have such a good one. I wasn't ready to die when I fell out of that tree and landed on my head. I didn't want to leave my family. But there was a nagging voice telling my it was my time to let go.
I feel the darkness around me. I feel the life drain from me in the two minutes it would take my mother to reach me from her location at the time. I think of everyone as I die. Suddenly everything I knew was gone and I was dead.
Or so I thought.
