So Mohdeseus and Simena set of for the Oracle. They journeyed for many days across the rocky paths of northern Mycenae. They passed beautiful meadows of wild flowers and sweet grass, trees and sweet grass and plants and streams at last they reached the Temple of Aphrodite. Neither of them spoke. Their excitement was almost tangible. Mohdeseus took one step forward. Then another slowly, she climbed up a steep path with Simena right behind her.
The Temple of Aphrodite seemed to shimmer slightly in the sun. It was made completely of smooth and marble. Inside, there was a solid gold statue Aphrodite herself. And at her feet lay what they had come for: the Oracle. Mohdeseus stepped inside and walked forward until she was 2 feet away from the statue. Then she kneeled down in front of it and cried “o glorious Aphrodite!” I wish to be as beautiful as my friend Simena. Tell me how I may do so fulfill my heart’s desire at last!
“Go to the bottom of the Angean Sea. There you will find the Golden Mirror. Bring it to this Temple. Then you will find out your next task will be” chimed the melodious voice of Aphrodite. “Alright, O Glorious Aphrodite. I will get you the mirror.” Promised Mohdeseus. The Olympians knew, Mohdeseus did not, that the mirror gave Poseidon’s wife, Amphitrite, immense pleasure. She wouldn’t let anyone take it, let alone two mortals like Mohdeseus and Simena was for beauty. But Aphrodite wanted to see how desperate Mohdeseus was beauty. Mohdeseus deeply interested Aphrodite. Most men and women came to her Temple to ask her for money, relief from beasts and monsters and even love. Surprisingly, she had never been asked for beauty before.
