Normal: the present
Italic: the past
Bold: ...My rambling xDThe sound creaking wooden floors echoed through the quiet mansion as the source of the sound walked through a hallway of portraits. Portraits of three women that is marked 'X' with a red paint over it.
My name is Herina, a young adult woman . I was born in a rather rich family, with hundreds of maids coming to serve me. All of them looked ordinary, a young woman looking for a well-paying job. But there were a few of them that stood out, some maids that served my family ever since I was born. Old maids that I trusted like a best friend, sad to know that it's just a mask. I stumbled on the first portrait on the wall with the words 'Hael Ornumia' on the frame.
"Nanny Hael...What are you doing?" A childish voice called this woman named Hael as there is the sound of door opening. It was a little girl. The little girl stared at the young woman, who is currently trying to open a safe in the middle of the night when she should be reading the little girl a bedtime story.
"I...was just going to get a drink from this little fridge, dear... Now you go back to your room and pick a story for me, okay?" The woman smiled at the child, and the child see it as a warm and motherly smile. The child quickly believe her with her naive thoughts and nodded, "That's a good girl. Okay, go now. Pick out your favorite storybook and I'll read it to you. Just wait for me."
The child quickly left the room and went into her own. She picked her favorite story and sat at her bed while holding the book, then wait for the maid to come back.
Oh Nanny Hael, I wonder where you are now...I still remember your last words before escaping. "Just wait for me... Tch, and I believed her. Why did I believe her?" I muttered while clawing at the portrait, ruining it even more.
The little girl waited and waited and waited but her maid never came. She eventually sleep and woken up by the sound of screaming. She looked around to see her maid wasn't there and quickly with her little feet, ran to the source of the voice that she soon realised as her Mom's.
"Why?! Why?!..." Her Mom sobbed to her Dad's chest. The little girl stared at the safe-which she thought is a little fridge and saw that it's empty. The little girl was puzzled to why her parents were so sad that the little fridge was empty of drinks now, there are more drinks in the fridge downstairs.
"Mom, are you sad that Nanny Hael took all the drinks from the little fridge?" The child asked and her Mom just wiped her eyes, staring at the child confused. "It's okay, Mom... There are more drinks in the fridge downstairs..." The child hugged her Mom's legs as she isn't that tall from her Mom.
The Mother sniffed and smiled, "That's right... There are still more left, there's still hope we can survive this cruel world." She smiled and hold her child's in her arms. It quickly turned into a family hug as the Dad joined in.
I felt a few tears escaped my eyes, falling onto the wooden floors. Then I walked to the next portrait with the words 'Yrunia Travald' engraved on the frame.Ahhh, her...
A teen girl walked into the mansion's kitchen to be greeted by a maid making a tea for the teen's Mother. "Ah, Yrunia! What are you doing?" The teen asked her, sitting in a stool.
"Oh, Mr. Quaine wanted a little refreshing drink to relax him from his pilling work in his office. He ordered me to make him a cup of coffee." She replied, putting the coffee in a tray and start to walk out.
"Okay then!" The teen smiled and grabbed a glass of milk from the fridge.
If only I had known, "If only I knew... then I could still saved..." I choked on my words and cried.
"Mr. Quaine won't know what'll hit him...After all, the poison mixed well with the coffee ..." The maid laughed and what she doesn't know is that the Mother accidentally heard her as the maid was passing the Mother's room. The Mother followed the maid to the Dad's office where the maid served him the coffee and left.
The mother ran to the door and slammed the door open to see the Dad going to drink the poisoned coffee. "No, Darling!" She yelled as she ran and bumped to the Dad, making some of the coffee spilled into her open mouth.
"Honey? What's the matter?!" The Dad worriedly said and saw his wife fall with foam coming out of her mouth. "Honey?! ...That maid...She poisoned the coffee!" He quickly call the ambulance to help the Mother and police to arrest Yrunia.
"I'm sorry, Mom... I'm sorry..." I sobbed and then clawed at the portrait in anger. After I calmed down, I walked to the next picture. The person I loathe the most I can't forget her even if I wanted to. The words engraved on the frame read 'Chesa Travald'. We didn't know she was related to Yrunia, and we realised it a little bit too late.
"Chesa, Could you... please water the flowers outside? it seems sad..." The Dad asked the maid and she nodded. Ever since the Mom died, the mansion seemed gloomy and dark.
The maid went outside and grabbed a lighter from her apron pocket. The young adult girl looked outside to see flames surrounding the house also blocking the way out. She quickly saw the face of the one that did this and it's Chesa. She quickly ran to her dad's office to see him sleeping face down on his desk, exhausted. She tried to wake him up by sitting him up but what she saw brought a horrid look to her face. Her Dad seemed to be tired with this life without his wife and decided to end it. By the hole in his head and a gun in the floor, he commited suicide. And she was alone.
"Mom... Dad... I'm sorry..." I sobbed and slide down to the floor. Then I heard knocking. It seemed to had come from the entrance door.
"It's okay, Herina... Don't blame yourself, Mom is in a good place now!" My dad tried to cheer me up and I looked at him. "Besides, hear that knocking? It seems we have another visitor...Want to greet them?" My dad smiled and I smiled back. He helped me stand up and we fly to the entrance door.
"Hello?... Is there someone here?..." A teen boy asked with a few of his friends behind him.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!" Yes. I'm stuck here. But I still could see how living beings walk with their shaking legs and screamed with the horrified look on their face. I'll show the living beings in this world about my story. My story of how I die.
