"A gloomy day..." she mused. Right outside her hospital window was a view of the park, the busy roads, and a cloudy sky.
Jaebum, Youngjae, and Jinyoung loved gloomy days; they called it their inspiration days. Mark and Yugyeom didn't mind it. The last two would rather have a bright, happy, and sunny day.
She then turned to her right. Every surface was covered in presents and flowers. As she looked at the gifts, she scowled. They appeared large, beautiful, and expensive.
Beautiful things... they no longer interested her. The voices of hate would mock her, telling she was beautiful. A pretty, innocent girl. A pretty, innocent girl.
A PRETTY, INNOCENT GIRL.
She covered her ears. But nothing could stop the voices from screaming in her head. It was annoying to hear voices, yes, but after hearing words thrown at her from two different sources, she eventually gave up fighting.
A gentle knock sounded from the door. Five slow seconds passed, but she refused to respond. The door opened.
"Kiyoko?" A male's voice resonated out. Just the sound was like music. A beautiful voice.
The name though? It was like poison, dripping down from her ears towards her heart. She hated that name.
Kiyoko's hands were now resting together in her lap. She was looking out the window. What would he say? Why was he there? She was either curious or panicked, but her eyes were glued outside again. A distance must be kept, because she was stubborn. She didn't give up on death yet.
Jinyoung sighed as he closed the door behind him. It had been two days since she woke up, and broke down, but now she doesn't speak to anyone.
He hasn't seen the eyes he fell in love with for quite a while. Her gaze was calming and strong. She was shy, but definitely loved people. Jinyoung wasn't sure if she did anymore.
She wasn't really sure either.
Next to her bed were five chairs, all overflowing with gifts from the other boys and people at school. Everyone had felt guilty for their actions. Jinyoung could even spot a few of his unopened gifts; three books, a bag filled with gummy candy, a scarf...
He moved the presents over to sit next to her. Kiyoko was pretending to watch a kid flying a kite, but was so, so anxious as she was next to Jinyoung.
Kiyoko had very serious trust issues, PTSD, and anxiety. She couldn't stay calm when one of her tormentors were close. A calm and quiet boy was actually a manipulator. She knew this as he was the cause of her last friend ditching her in fear of bullying. Kiyoko could feel her heart racing. She prayed he wouldn't hear it. It pounded against her chest painfully. She couldn't breath.
"Ko-ah," he started, looking down at his fidgeting hands. It was odd. Being next to someone you know you hurt makes even the most collected people sweat. "I..." But really, what does one say to someone who've you almost led to suicide?
I'm sorry? Forgive me?
I was wrong?
That would never cut it. He knew this.
"I... really needed you. I was so lonely. I had no choice but to take a career path that I never believed to be my own dream. You taught me to be someone I loved. And then, I fell in love with you. You took my hand, and, and..." Jinyoung's vision grew blurry. He continued to ramble on.
"I let go of yours. Out of selfish jealousy," Tears started falling onto his hands. "and fear of what the rumors said, I believed what jumped into my mind."
Jinyoung looked up ready to greet her uninterested expression with his honest emotions. "I was wro-" He still had tears dripping down his face, but his breakdown stopped. "Ko? Kiyoko?!" She looked like she was suffocating. Kiyoko was having a panic attack.
But her only thought going through her mind was,
please jinyoung.
finish what you were going to say.Although, she would never say that. Kiyoko doesn't trust him. He is a liar.
He was Jinyoung, the manipulator.
She fainted from hyperventilating.
