Jungha removed her sweater, showing the now interested Kiyoko her cutting scars. There was no particular pattern, just cuts that were full of memories.
For the past hour, Jungha told her the story of her beauty. Her daily routine, her friends, her job... but Kiyoko was angry. A perfect being, she repeated in her head. Must be nice.
But Jungha opened up quick to Kiyoko.
"I've been... violated sexually three times." Kiyoko decided to quit judging her and look at the girl. She had a smile that said she was okay. You could CLEARLY see she was not. Her good looks and perfect life dragged her by the neck to people who were despicable.
"Every day I was tormented. I told my friends, but then they accused me of lying. The people who hurt me are still out there. They have families, jobs..." She looked choked up.
"Is it the same for you?"
Jungha made the right decision in being honest to this young girl. This teen immediately empathized with her. The people who tormented her could live their lives fine. She realized that her heart would always have scars.
The scars on Jungha's arm were slightly faded. She seemed to have been clean for a while. Kiyoko was glad for her.
"I hope that you won't think of me as every other girl. It's for my own sake to make you feel better. It makes me feel just a bit cleaner." Two hours had already passed, and it was closing time. Jungha walked out and was shaking from recalling the events of her past.
The young Japanese girl was alone with her thoughts. She realized that the voices had disappeared for the time Jungha had been there.
Jungha reminded her about something she had forgotten a long time ago.
No one is ever alone in struggles. While her entire school ganged up on her, she led herself to believe that she was the only one imperfect.
But Kiyoko was no longer the single flaw in the world. She felt less lonely.
She hoped she would see Jungha again.
