I received a text from someone. I didn't who she is until she introduced herself sa text na rin.
Her name is Samantha V. Franco. She is a lawyer. Wala naman akong kaso pero she told me that she needs to see me kasi may urgent matter. It was about my mom.
I fixed a meeting and ayun nagmeet naman kami. She introduced herself very clearly to me. She is the lawyer of my mom na nagayos ng last will and testament niya. Laking gulat ko kasi before she died, may paganito pa si mom. As if naman na marami kaming pera, eh wala naman. Actually, wala naman. If ever na meron, di na kailangan ni kuya na malubog sa utang. Pero bakit ako lang ang tinawag? Kasi ako yung favorite na anak?
"Mr. Cariaga, thanks for meeting me today. This is very urgent. Your mother, Mrs. Remedios E. Cariaga left something for you and your siblings, but she requested na ikaw lang ang makausap ko about this matter."
"Okay." I responded. Medyo nakakaba.
"Your sister Catherine will receive the 250,000 pesos. Savings ng dad mo yun na he planned na ipamana talaga sa ate mo."
"Okay. Paano naman si kuya?"
"Your Kuya Alex will receive 500,000 pesos plus isang house and lot na meron kayo sa Antipolo City, Rizal. I know you are not informed about this pero she made sure na everything is settled bago siya mamatay."
"What? You mean may bahay pala kami sa Antipolo? And that is only for my brother?"
"Yes. She did that because alam niya that Alex loved to stay in Antipolo kasi mahal na mahal niya ang pagtuturo and it would be best kung meron siyang bahay doon."
"Plus pera?"
"Yes. the 500,000 pesos is pambayad halos sa mga utang na meron si Alex para pampaospital ng mother mo nung buhay pa siya."
While she was discussing this to me, kinakabahan na ako. Sobra. Kasi imagine, my sister, who is Canada right now, received 250k tapos si kuya 500k plus bahay? May natira kaya sakin?
"Don't worry. Your mom saved something for you."
"Please. Say it now"
"You mom left you the house. The house kung saan kayo nakatira nung bata pa kayo."
"What? Sa Angono?"
"Yes."
"That need a lot of renovation. Ang galing naman ni mom!"
"She left you the title of house. Also, she left 500,000 pesos, savings ng mom mo while she was alive."
"I just can't believe it. Si Kuya may bagong bahay. Tapos ako? Ayun lang"
"Your mom said na if you wish to sell the house okay lang naman. Since that you are the new owner of the house, ikaw na bahala. But she preferred na ikaw ay mag stay doon."
"Well, I have a condo naman"
"Yes. She mentioned that to me, but that is not a house daw. She wanted you to have the house."
This was so unfair. Sobrang unfair. Dahil ba siguro may pera naman ako at kaya ko? Hindi ko siya ba inalagaan? Grabe naman talaga.
"I guess that's it. I will leave you all the bank account numbers so you can get the money kung kailan mo gusto. In case you need me, just give me a call."
"Okay. Thank you Ms. Franco, meron pa ba na need idiscuss?"
"You just need to sign the papers para maging okay na ang lahat"
I signed the papers I need to sign out of agony. Nakakainis. I felt mom just left a trash for me while two of my siblings got, well? Ginto? Grabe naman talaga. Pero be thankful nalang, that's what she used to tell us while she was alive. Kahit nasa deathbed na siya she kept on saying na maging thankful parin.
Another thing that Miss Franco said is I need to discuss this to my ate and kuya. NAMAN! Grabe. Di ba ako busy? Pero this is something that my siblings need to know. I guess tiisin ko muna ito. All for mom.
