"well, shit."
alyssa wasn't doing well. at all. she was stressed out, she couldn't find her classes, this was a brand new school, oh- and not to mention she's in her first year of high school. alyssa was holding back tears, at this point. being late to class, or anything for that matter, was equivalent to not showing up to court, in her mind. so much anxiety rushes to her when she's late. she's too shy to ask an upper classmen for help finding the "fine arts" building, so she just ran around the entire school campus.

of course, the building was way at the other side of the school property from where she was. and this school was huge, not to mention. around eight different buildings, a football field, a softball/baseball field, a soccer field, a huge open area which is for the student to eat lunch at, the cafeteria, and the gym.

she eventually found the fine arts building, but now she needs to find her classroom. she ran through all the halls, and of course, the last hall she went to way the hall her class was in. the late bell rang around ten minutes ago, her nose was red and runny, her eyes were also red and watery from her crying, and she was shaking. thank god that her cousins were in this class, because when she got into the room, they both sprang up out of their seats and rushed to her.

"oh my god, i'm so sorry. we should have helped you find your class. we forgot to tell you where we get dropped off in the morning. are you okay? oh no, you're not okay. it's gonna be okay. deep breaths." my cousin ashley blurted out while grabbing me and pulling me close to her. "shit, we really are sorry. let me go explain to the teacher that you're new and didn't know where your classes were and stuff." emily, ashley's twin sister said, then walked over the the teachers desk. everyone was doing a worksheet and were listening to their music, so they didn't really notice me. ashley finally let's go of me, and i can see emily walking up to me with the teacher following close.

"hi, you must be alyssa. emily and ashley's cousin, right? i'm ms. goodwin (god-win) and i'm going to be your algebra one teacher. are you okay? do you need to take a breather?" she was really nice. "i'll be okay. thank you." alyssa replies, in a quiet tone. "alright, hun. go ahead and sit next to emily in table group five, so you won't be completely alone. if you need anything, i'll be at my desk. oh! let me give you a worksheet real quick. it's just review stuff, so it's easy. but if you need help come to me or ask emily. she's really good at this." ms. goodwin walked to her desk, and alyssa followed. "here you go." she hands alyssa a worksheet, and it's just two-step equations. she thanks her, and walks back to the empty desk next to emily. "you're pretty smart, so i'll probably asking you for help, haha. do you have a pencil?" emily asks. "yeah. it's one of those cool expensive mechanical ones. i'm pretty proud, i convinced my mom to get me them." alyssa states, while holding up a pencil from her bag. (pencil in picture lol) "ooo, okay, mrs. rich-pants. have fun with that." emily laughs to herself, and continues her work.
