"I can't believe your parents kicked you out for being so honest!" Cameron said to me exasperated. She didn't have to tell me. I knew. Cameron was so nice that was probably the main reason she was my friend. She has brown curly hair that falls neatly down her back along with the green hazel eyes. I've been friends with Cameron since I was still in diapers. We were sitting at our spot in one of our favorite Diners that we always come to.
"You know you could always ask my cousin Sonny, He told me not that long ago that he was looking for a room mate." She suggested. I took a sip of my coffee which I had forgotten was MEGA HOT and ended up fanning my mouth. Cameron simply rolled her eyes at me for being overly dramatic like she would say. I wasn't really Overly dramatic about anything. Cough. Cough.
"Is your cousin hot?" I ask with a smile. Cameron simply rolls her eyes taking another bite out of her fries. I watch her carefully because I seriously wanted to know if he was hot. I haven't been in a relationship since Jake Ossy. He was my first love. We had just graduated high school and I wasn't exactly sure that I wanted to go to College. Maybe I just wanted to get a job and spend the rest of my life looking for true love. cliche? I know. But I am a sucker for romance. I just can't help it.
"Don't even try it, Riley. My cousin is as straight as you are gay." I laughed. Okay then he was pretty straight then.
"Fine but I still want to see about being his room mate because I am sure you don't want me staying on your couch for the rest of my life" I say with a wink and she groans.
"Okay I'll call him!" She jumps up and goes outside to make a call because the one rule in this diner was your not allowed to make any calls inside.
I blew on my coffee before taking another sip and walking up to the manager who was an old lady that I knew pretty well considering I had been coming here with Cameron since I was fourteen.
"Hey Riley did you need a refill on your coffee doll face." She asked kindly glancing over at my coffee mug and probably noticing that it was pretty much where she had left it when she had poured me some coffee earlier.
I shook my head quickly, "No ma'me I was wondering If I could get an application to feel out. Mom kicked me out and I really need to find a job quick." I said. I probably didn't need to tell her all of that but I had this small problem of being too openly honest.
"Sure" She said handing it to me along with a pen."fill this out and then give it back to me and I'll take you in the back for an interview."
I thanked her and went to sit back down in my chair. I waited for Cameron to get back inside while I filled out the application. I skipped the address part because I wasn't exactly sure what to put. When I finished it I gave it back to the manager of the diner, Shirley.
She looked it over and took me into the back of the diner where she proceeded to ask me a couple questions. When we were done she had me sign some papers and asked me if I could start tomorrow. Of course I happily agreed.
By the time I went back to my seat Cameron was finally back inside. She gave me a slight smile before sitting down and chewing on one of her fries. I waited patiently for her to tell me what her cousin, Sonny said.
"Well?" I asked impatiently after it had been a good minute of silence which was killing me.
"Well Sonny said all the other applicants he interviewed for his room mate fell through and that as long as you pay the utilities on time you can move in as soon as you like."
I couldn't help the wide smile that fell through. Thank god I wasn't going to be homeless or have to sleep on Cameron's couch for the rest of my life. That was always a good thing.
"I told him that you were gay, by the way" Cameron said nonchalantly. I almost choked on my coffee.
"What did he say?" I asked.
She just simply shrugged her shoulders. "nothing really, He's not a homophobe if that's what your getting at."
I shrugged my shoulders. After Cameron paid the bill we left to go to her cousin Sonny's house.
I didn't have anything but the clothes on my back and a duffel bag of clothes I carried with me everywhere when My parent's kicked me out. Aside from that I was pretty much broke.
Sonny apparently didn't live too far from the dinner, only about a mile up the road. Cameron knocked on the door waiting for Sonny to let us into the Apartment. When he finally opened the door I swear my jaw dropped to the floor at how gorgeous he was. He had black hair and green eyes he was about my height. Maybe a few inches taller. With pink subtle lips that were drool worthy. Was I lucky to be allowed anywhere near this god of a creature? I couldn't help but let my mind wonder to what it would be like to taste him, to feel him beneath me...
I shook my head. I shouldn't think such thoughts. After all he was straight. I mentally groaned at myself because now due to the images that had flitted through my mind. I was completely hot and bothered.
We walked inside the two bedroom apartment and it actually wasn't half bad.. not bad at all.
As soon as you walked int there was the kitchen which was a decent size and past the kitchen was the living room. If you walked passed the living room there was a hallway and two bedrooms at opposite ends with the bathroom directly in the middle.
Oh yeah I could totally live here forever with this gorgeous male. I licked my lips. Cameron punched me in my arm bringing me back to the present. I hadn't been aware I was drifting off again.
"You must be Riley, I'm sonny I guess were room mates now" Sonny said with a husky voice. He was most definitely drool worthy.
