(Evangeline's POV)
"There was an attack?" Marina gasped at breakfast. "Are you okay, Your Highness?"
"I would be better if Professor Min hadn't lied to me," I muttered, looking at the brown-haired boy who was calmly eating. He was subbing for Jungkook, who was making sure there wasn't anything out of place after what occurred last night.
"I wasn't lying about the whole thing," Yoongi said. "He did hear a disturbance on the lawn and he did go to check on it. I also just happened to be awake at that time."
I rolled my eyes and continued eating. A yawn was heard as Taehyung came in. "Your Highness, I am finished with the dresses I had planned, as well as mending your old ones. Is there anything else you like me to do?"
"You can eat breakfast," I told him and he bowed before following Seokjin into the kitchen.
"Not the normal bunch is here," Marina noted, looking around the room. And she was right. Jungkook wasn't present and Professor Min was in his place. Butler Park was also eating instead of Hoseok, who was going around checking the bodies for anything that told us where they came from or why.
"I thought Hoseok-hyung hated blood," Jimin said, confused when Hoseok pushed past him to the outside doors.
"I do," Hoseok grimaced, a pair of pristine, white gloves covering his hands. "When it's fresh, that is. I don't like watching it spill if you know what I mean."
Jimin shrugged. "Not really, but you do you."
Taehyung was now joining breakfast and Professor Kim was the only one left. He was currently with Hoseok, helping him with figuring out if something meant anything like a type of jewelry or the brand on the weapons.
Taehyung had taken a seat next to Marina and he struck up a conversation. He asked her if she was doing well and if she had slept well. He continued to chat before looking around. "Oh, Jungkook's not here."
I shook my head. "He's outside. He'll be returning shortly."
"I need to tell him that I need better arrows," Taehyung sighed, cutting his food. "Didn't do worth a damn."
"Looked like they did good to me," Butler Park said. "They were quiet and shot straight."
"I just don't think they're the best that they can be," Taehyung added. "Either that or I can't aim anymore."
"You probably can't aim anymore," Professor Min smirked.
Taehyung frowned. "I didn't need your input."
Yoongi just gave him an amused look before going back to finish his plate.
"So now what?" Marina asked, timidly.
"What do you mean?" Butler Park wiped his mouth with his napkin as he looked at the girl.
"Are you going to put the kingdom on some sort of warning? Tell everyone to look out?"
I shook my head. "No. The people should be fine."
"They didn't target the people," Yoongi continued. "They had to go through multiple cities to get here. If they wanted to kill civilians, they had many chances to. They came here and here only to attack."
Marina nodded. "I suppose you're right about that. So are you going to do anything to the castle? Make it more... I don't know, defended?"
I shrugged. "I think everything is okay and nothing tragic happened. The only loss is a problem for whoever sent them. If they were sent, that is." I scooted my plate back, signifying that I was done. Jimin had finished up ages ago, scarfing down the food greedily. He blamed it on the stressful night. I stood, the butler following my actions. "I am going to take care of a few things. Professor Min, I trust that you will call that meeting to order when it comes around."
