Suzana groaned at the light tickling her eyelids. She rolled over and threw a pillow over her face before screaming into it only to groan at the volume of her own screams. She blindly reached for the glass of water that Reid had place on her bedside table only to swipe it into the hardwood flooring and she cringed as it shattered. "Fuck." She grumbled and leaned over the end of her bed for her boots. She slid on the boots and a pair of sunglasses as she walked out the door.
She stumbled down the stairs either from the hangover, her clumsiness, or her sleep addled brain, she wasn't sure. When she reached the bottom floor, she heard humming and it instantly put her on edge. Her Mother wasn't a humming person, at least not lately. She eased into the kitchen and was confused when she spotted her Mother at the stove, dancing along to whatever the tune was that she was humming. "Mom, are you okay?" The smile her Mother hit her with was blinding. "I received a call this morning. I got the job!" Her Mother shouted and Suzana recoiled from the sound. This was the most excited she had seen her mother in years. "That's great. But what job?" Her mother turned back to the stove. "A firm in Boston."
"Boston?" Her mother nodded as she tasted something that looked a lot like Mac and Cheese. "That's great." Her Mother reached for seasoning and added it to the pot. "They want me to start next week actually and I've already looking for us an apartment." Suzana shook her head thinking she hadn't heard her correctly. "Apartments?" Her Mom nodded as she continued to adjust the flavor of the her Mac and Cheese. "Why not just commute. It's a forty-five minute drive an hour at most. I'm already enrolled for this year in Spenser and this is my last year can't I just finish here?"
"This will be a fresh start sweetie." Her Mother didn't bother to look at her. "I don't want a fresh start. I like it here. I have a life here. You can get an apartment and I'll go to you when I have a break or you could come see me on your days off." Suzana thought she made a decent argument but her Mother didn't budge. "Sweetie, This will be good for us. A new job, new school, new friends, maybe even a nice boy nothing like the last guy."
"This school can get me into an Ivy league and my friends, They have taken care of you when I couldn't. That aspirin this morning sure as hell wasn't me. I was in the same boat. It was the friends that you want me to replace. Actually the one I dated. You may have hated him but her respected me enough to respect you and actually help you." Her Mother finally turned to look at her. "You will not speak to me like that. I am your Mother. I deserve your respect.""Nobody deserves respect, that is something you have to earn. And you sure haven't been much of a Mother these past few years. How many times in the past four years have I picked you up off the floor after coming home from school? How many time's have I had to hold your hair back as you threw up everything but your memories? I can't do this. I won't." Suzana darted out of the kitchen and then the front door. "SUZANA PRISCILLA SUMTER GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE!" Suzana didn't glance back until she was a the end of the long winding driveway. She stopped to catch her breathe and finally paused enough to notice the tears streaming down her face.
She reached into her back pocket for her phone and held down two until it began to ring. When the call connected her voice was already cracking. "Ty, can you come get me?" He asked her where and she quickly told him just to follow the road between her house and Caleb's and he would find her. He told her he would see her in a few before hanging up and she started her trek up the road.

"Hop in,Prissy." Suzana's head snapped up and she stared at Reid before leaning to look at Tyler in the driver's seat. "Really? She asked him with furrowed brows before climbing into the car and sprawling out in the backseat. "We're a two man team baby." Reid deadpanned. "Never say that again." Tyler muttered as he hit the gas. "First things first, can you take me to Caleb's to change. I know I left some clothes over there." Tyler nodded to her and met her gaze in the mirror. "Do you wanna talk about it?" His asking caused the tears to build up again. "Not really. Maybe later. Over a game of pool and an order of fries. I would kill for some bacon right about now."
