I pull into the driveway. I turn the engine off and look around. Here we go again.
As I open the door I here the television. My brother. Watching the usual, Full House. I don't get how he could've just dropped out of high school. Of course he's 4 years older than me; which probably means he should be pretty smart. Then again he has Down syndrome so what could I really do to help. I tried once, but it didn't end well.
"Rachel! Rachel!"
I zone back in. Back to the real world.
"What?" I reply
"Good grief! What's been up with you lately?" Says my sister, Sydney.
She's 3 years younger than me. She's what a typical middle schooler is like: Obsessed with One Direction, Obsessed with boys, and can never stay out of drama.
"Nothing. I'm just really tired. Volleyball practice was tough. And just imagine what's in store for cheer. I know coach has some conditioning prepared." I respond.
"Okay. Well, I have basketball practice tomorrow. Dad is busy at work and moms out of town. Could you take me. If you don't care?"
"Sure. Whatever."
I open the Instagram app. And scroll through the feed. Nothing new. I get a text from my bestfriend, Blake.
Blake: Hey
Me: Hey:)
Blake: What you doing? I'm bored.
Me: Nothing just lying down.
Blake: Do you wanna meet at the park or something. I need to talk to you about something.
Me: Blake....you're scaring me. What do you want to talk about?
Blake: There is nothing wrong I promise. Just meet me at the park by the swingsets in twenty minutes. Trust me;). See you there. Byeee
