I got out of the shower and saw a pretty white dress laid out for me to get dressed in. I found a hairbrush and started to poke and prod at the rats nest in my hair. I went out of the bathroom only to find that Evie was sound asleep in the bed. Then noticed the table at the far corner of the room.
Going over to the table I found a picture with a woman on it and a little boy. The boy had a big smile plastered on his face and the woman had a sad smile that looked big. There were also letters that had elegant writing. I opened one and I read. It said,
'I can't find my child. It has been a week and all of the children appear missing. It has grown into a world wide epidemic. As a scientist I have a theory, and that theory is that there are two universes. The children are in one and we, the adults, are in the other. In place of the children there seem to be monsters for every kid. We have not come out with names for these monsters yet, but I figure that there will be names for them to come. I can only imagine that the children's universe has the same monsters. I have to go now and get back to my research. -Sidney'
'Monsters?' I questioned myself. There were no way that monsters were real. Something itches at me to go and take them down. I don't know why but it is probably because they ruined people's families.
Pondering these thoughts I went to lay next to Evie. Curling up in a ball by her side I quickly went strait to sleep.

I woke up with Evie not beside me on the bed. I wonder where she went. I went back over to the desk where I found another letter. That letter read,
'Resources are running low. People are getting eaten by the monsters that roam the planet. Everyone is either still freaking out over the disappearance of the children, fighting the monsters, or dead. I don't know how much more of the adults can take this. I hope that the children are doing better. Alex if you are reading this please know that I will always love you and that I am watching over you. I'm sorry that I did not get to say goodbye so this is my goodbye to you. I love you! -mom (aka Sydney)'
This mom did not even get to say goodbye to her son. I felt worse by the minute. Then the sadness turned to anger. I am angry for the monsters eating people, I am angry for the division of our worlds, and most importantly I am angry for the people who got separated.
The door opened and I took a fighting stance. Quickly shaking my fighting stance off and returning to normal I saw the boy with messy brown hair standing there.
His eyes lit up with surprise. I guess he did not expect me to be awake. Sitting down on a bed I gestured for him to sit down next to me.
Sitting down he said, "what's your name?" I wondered if I should trust him or not. I decided to not to right away.
"My name is Layla." I replied not meeting his eyes. "What's you're name?" Now he looked suspicious of me.
"Theodore, please call me Theo." He replied cautiously to me.
"How am I here? Where is here?" I calmly questioned. There were monsters in place of adults and from what I read everyone has freaked out.
"You were unconscious and we brought you and Evelyn in. As for where we are, we are in a place called springtown, Georgia. Even though there are no signs for the states, we found an old map of the U.S. which is the country that we are in right now." Theo said to me in reply.
There was a huge roar that shook the room. I looked worriedly to Theo. He just stood up and said, "Come with me please." Then rushed out of the room not hearing my cry of frustration of not knowing what was going on. We stopped in front of a door and heard talking.
"Why don't we make a deal? You get us out of here and we can help you with the necessary things you need and a team." A boy said on the other side to presumably Evelyn. I need to stop this now. "Deal?" The boy asked. I barged In the door before Evelyn could reply.
"Wait!" I screamed. Startling every one they looked at me in surprise and I knew I messed up.
