dancing with the devil

Things between the Halliwell family had always been tense

Things between the Halliwell family had always been tense.  Between a transparent father and an evil child, the family was never ideal.  What do you expect when it's a family of witches?  But nothing could compare to the darkness that fell over the children when their parents were killed on that unholy night.  A night that was meant to be full of smiles and joy quickly turned into the darkest of them all.  Not a star was in the sky... not even the glow of the moon was present, nor was the happiness in the children's souls.  That night, that unholy night, was the night their world became completely twisted.

The painful screams inside of Melinda's head soon were coming out of her mouth as her brother banished her to Hell.  He had killed their mother along with their aunts, and was now trying to kill Chris.   Melinda, in her many attempts of trying to stop him, failed and was sent to Hell to be tortured for eternity.  What Wyatt failed to realize, was that she was a Halliwell... a survivor, she didn't die... she conquered.

Melinda danced with the devil until she sent him to his death, and took his crown and thrown.  She had no intention in torturing poor souls, she only wanted freedom. The DNA of a warrior ran deep in her veins and she showed it.  When she walked... the world shook with fear.  She was scarier than the seven devils, your worst nightmare, she was scarier than the devil himself.

Melinda knew how to survive, how to lead an army.  She used her knowledge to break free.  She always walked with determination in her eyes, even before she wore the crown of Hell.  Although she was no saint or mortal, she was kind and caring.  People only feared her title, not her, for she was only a small girl with fears bigger than her.  But she tended to wear her fears like a golden cloth of confidence, which only made her more powerful.

She walked with her head high, shoulders back, with the flames of Hell dancing in her eyes... and a sweet smile on her face, because she had two people worth smiling for.

When she entered the house she grew up in, in which was now a museum, she was greeted by people with fear on her face.

"Nice to meet you all, I'm Satan."  She greeted them with a smile.  Her voice echoed through the deafening silence, leaving behind a cold and bitter feel.

"Melinda, so glad you could make it." Antonio voice called out. The voice bounced off of the walls of the old house, with nowhere to go.

"Satan has arrived." Wyatt voiced as he walked down the stairs and looked her in her eyes. "And she brought Hell with her." He added, looking into her threatening eyes.

"Now Wyatt, that's no way to greet your sister."  Antonio said sarcastically as he walked out of the corner and into the light.

The mortals who stood in the center quickly left the house, shock and fear smeared across their faces.

"Well, I'm not in the mood for a family reunion."  Wyatt replied as he stepped down the stairs with a sinister smirk.

"Where is Prudence?" Melinda questioned in a demanding tone.  She hadn't seen her cousin in months, the last time being a fight with Wyatt.  Melinda watched as he motioned his fingers at someone that was out of sight.  Just as expected, men walked out with the Brunette in who was being dragged by her arms. Melinda's nostrils flared with anger as she saw the girl dragged down the stairs, yelling and kicking.

"Want her?" Wyatt snickered , but before Melinda could answer Prudence broke free and jumped down the side of the stairs.   Angered grew onto Wyatt's face as Prudence walked up to Antonio and Melinda.

Melinda crossed her arms and looked up at her brother with a smirk, but it soon faded when she saw Bianca, Chris' fiancee, walked down the stairs and stand next to the man who spent years trying to kill Chris. Bianca's hair flowed down past her shoulders and sadness and fear was present in her eyes.  Melinda furrowed her eyebrows and she wore a face of disgust.

"And you all call me the devil, while she wears the horns and betrayal?"  Melinda asked before she walked out of the house, Prudence and Antonio following.

The three ended up in the penthouse that Prudence grew up in.  Books and shelves were lying across the dusty floor, pictures were ripped and glass was broken.  The walls were bare and the only memories were of it all ending.

"So Chris went to the past in hopes of saving Wyatt?" Melinda asked the two, trying to catch up on what had happened in the recent events.  The two nodded and Melinda rolled her eyes.

"Well do either of you know what point of time he is in?" She questioned as she sat on a chair.

"I can figure it out, Gypsy can help me."  Antonio responded as he played with the necklace around his neck.   Melinda nodded and he disappeared, for Melinda had sent him to Gypsy.

Prudence looked over at her cousin with sad eyes.  Melinda caught her stare and shook her head "Show me no sadness, you're the one who has been hurt." she empathized.

"You survived Hell... twice.  And i'm not a child, Mel, I don't need protecting."  Prudence insisted in protest.

"I know, I just don't want to loose anyone else to Wyatt.  He's done enough damage to this family as it is."  Melinda said with coldness in her voice.  She walked across the broken home, to pick up a picture.  She flipped it over and removed the broken glass, and in the picture was their family.

"It feels like a million years ago, although it was only 8."  Prudence mumbled as she looked over the shorter brunette's shoulder.

"We all looked so happy... although us two are only 1." Melinda agreed with a sad laugh.  Prudence joined in on the laugh but it relived no pain.  They too, were deeply scared and nothing could fix that wound.

Melinda took the picture out of the frame and folded into her pocket before the door blew open.

"Sorry for the dramatics." Gypsy announced as she and Antonio walk into the room.

"So what'd you get?" Prudence asked as she walked over to them.

"Nothing.  He knows what he's doing."  Gypsy reassured in a strong voice.  There was pain behind her voice, pain because of the things she had experienced.  They all had pain, they all hid it well though.

"He always knows what he's doing.  It's a strength."  Melinda piped in as she met the others in the center of the room.

"She's right.  He wouldn't leave an obvious lead."  Prudence spoke up.

"Bianca sent him through, she would know." Gypsy said, trying to figure it out.

"She's on Wyatt's demon team." Antonio retorted with anger running through his veins.

"She still knows where he is..." Melinda trailed off and she began to walk to the door.

"What?" Prudence and Antonio asked.

"Xander." Gypsy remarked, with a smirk.

Prudence and Antonio wore a smile as they joined Gypsy and Melinda.

"Ready to wake up a monster?" Melinda asked with a sinister smile plastered across her evil face.

The same flames danced in her eyes, but they now danced across her face.  She walked as though she was 20 feet tall and she owned the world.

For she was the keeper of Hell itself.
