Hyemin's POV:
"C' mon lets go Hazel", I said taking my toast and handing another to her.
We rushed out of our shared apartment complex and dashed down the block. The school was close but we were going to be late because someone didn't wake up on time 😒. Someone decided to-
Sh*t.
Someone tripped me, again. But thankfully Jackson, my best friend, saved me.
"Careful there, Hyemin!" he said as he caught me. I was safe thanks to his years of doing this every day.
He saves me every day because of one person. One single idiotic person and that person is none other than-
"Yah! Hwang Hyunjin! Why do you do this every day?! Huh?! Is it fun?!" my best friend Hazel shouted at him.
"Forget about it, let's just go," I said as I dragged both of my best friends with glaring eyes away from the man who actually looked guilty for once.
What's up with him? I thought. He never felt sympathetic for me before...

During class, I could feel someone staring at me like their eyes were burning holes through my head. As I turned around, I saw Hyunjin staring at me, lost in thought. I turned around flustered that such a person could make me feel this way.
"What happened?" Jackson asked, slightly worried about my state.
"Oh, it's nothing," I simply replied, not wanting him to worry.
He turned around and saw Hyunjin staring at me. Hyunjin quickly noticed Jackson's expression and turned around. He turned back to me.
"Ooooo, looks like someone's got an admirer~," He whispered nudging my shoulder.
"Shut up," I whispered back, wishing he hadn't said that because of the crimson red that had spread to my cheeks.
Jackson just chuckled and turned back to the board.
Does he actually like me? I thought. Ha, there's no way.
"HWANG HYUNJIN!" the teacher yelled as a snapped out of my thoughts.
"Yes...?" He replied, catching a paper that was thrown across the room by his friend.
"I need you in the front of the room! Switch seats with Jackson, NOW!" I flinched at his words. Jackson looked at me worriedly.
"You'll be fine," he whispered before patting me on the back and heading to his new seat.
I sighed as a familiar figure plopped down on to the seat next to me.
"Alright then, let's continue with the class," the teacher said turning his attention to the board.
"Hey there, princess," a familiar voice said.
"Stop bothering me," I whisper-yelled.
"Ooo, someone's feisty today, huh?" he smirked.
"I said-"
"Hwang Hyunjin! Choi Hyemi! Do you have anything to share with the class?" the teacher questioned us suspiciously.
"No sir," we replied nonchalantly.
"Good! Detention for both of you after school!" the teacher said turning back to the board once again.
I mentally groaned and cheered in my head.
1. I hate detentions
2. I have to spend even more time with Hyunjin
3. but then again, I get to spend more time with Hyunjin
My thoughts were interrupted as the bell rang, indicating that class was over. Just as I was about to finish packing up my bag, I felt someone tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see no one but Hwang Hyunjin himself.
I saw a slight blush spread to his cheeks as he handed me a piece of paper.
"Um, I'll see you after school, bye," he waved and walked out of the classroom.
I curiously opened the paper and saw that he scribbled some random numbers and words on it.
It said:
Hey,
I'm really sorry for what I've done to you these past couples of years. I hope you can forgive me.
Here's my number: xxx-xxx-xxxx
With love and regret,
Hyunjinnie :)
Puzzled, I walked to my next class with a fast-beating heart and a confused mind.
~time skip to after school cuz I can't think rn and my bro is snoring rlly loud~
"Oh, good, you're both here," the teacher said as he walked into the room seeing us sitting next to each other, "alright, I have an important meeting to go to so you two stay here and out of trouble, okay?"
"Yes, sir," we replied in unison again.
"Good," and with that, he left the room leaving a dead silence behind.
I sighed as I pulled out a book to read.
I saw Hyunjin whip out his phone and start playing some games.
Hah, what a kid. I thought.
Suddenly, I felt two pairs of burning eyes look in my direction and fall onto my face.
He scooted closer and I scooted farther.
He scooted closer again as I scooted farther again.
This kept on going back and forth until the side of my chair hit the wall.
I mentally cursed for picking the seat at the edge of the classroom.
Hyunjin softly put my book down, forcing me to look at him.
"Hyemin..." his voice trailed off.
"Yes, Hyunjin?" I mentally sighed again.
He was leaning in closer gazing a back and forth from my lips to my eyes.
Just as our lips were about to touch, he whispered huskily, "I think I love you,"

A/N:Ahhh, don't you all just LOVE cliffhangers?? Anyways, I've decided to make this book much shorter than I had planned it to be, because of my hectic schedule. But, I am really liking where this book is going so far so I will do my best to update as much as possible! 😁
