The snarls and growls were loud resonating throughout the woods. The birds that were singing their joyous songs, stopped abruptly to hide and not be seen by the fighting wolves. Two wolves fought for their lives in no-man-land for their right of survival. One wolf was a male grey, black, and brown mixtures wolf and the other was a grey and white she wolf protecting her pups. Her two one female and the other male. The female pup was all white. The male pup was all black. The two pups where hidden in a secret den bundled up together quietly as their mother fought to protect them.
The two fighting wolves were fighting viscously and seemed that the fight was coming to an end. The male wolf delivered the final bite to the females neck. He closed his jaws around the she wolf's neck tightly, only to let go when her body stoped shaking. Once he knew the she wolf was dead he howled and ran away. The pups heard the retreating paws of the wolf and left the safety off their den to find their mother. The two pups found their mother laying down limp in moving, and the pups whimper and curled up to their mother.
Hours later four joggers were following the path and saw the pups and the mother and halted their run. One of the joggers approached the three wolves and saw that the mother's chest wasn't rising or falling. He signaled for another jogger to approach. The remaining joggers walked up to the man.
"Look. Theses two puppies are by themselves. Their mother is dead," the first jogger said
"Mac, we can't leave them here. Let's get to the truck and take these little guys to the animal shelter," a female jogger said
"Ally go start the truck. Jasmine and Stephan grab a puppy and I'll grab the mother," Mac said
"Right," Ally said running back the way they came from to the truck
Jasmine grabbed the female pup and Stephan grabbed the male pup. They waited for Mac to pick up the mother wolf. The three joggers went as fast as they could with out scaring the pups. They made it back to the truck and they speed off to the nearest animal shelter. There the pups got checked out by a vet.
2 months later
The four joggers, Ally, Mac, Jasmine, and Stephan, went to see the two pups after the veterinarian called them. They smiled as they saw the two pups play with the puppies in the play room.
"They are ready for adoption now. I've told you before and I'll say it again. Those puppies are lucky you found them. Another day and they probably would've ended up like their poor mother," the veterinarian said
"That's still great news. They're ready for adoption. I know just who will be happy to take care of those two. My sister has been looking for puppies for my niece and nephew for a birthday present for them. And I think they are perfect for them," Ally said
"Ben and Kacie would love them," Mac said holding Ally close to him
"Then it's settled. If you'll follow me, we can sort out the paperwork and you can take the puppies with you," the veterinarian said
The five walked away leaving the pups to play with the other puppies. When the two pups joined the room after they were checked out, the other puppies were a little frightened by the two. But after spending days with the two they accepted them into their little family. They two were still stayed together and made a fuse whenever they were separated. The two had never been good while being apart and the staff there noticed that they were calm when they were together.
The puppies in the room stopped playing when two staff members walked in and placed a collar on both of the pups and put a leash on them. The two pups got excited and followed the staff member out of the room. The pups and the staff members reached the front of the building, which the pups have never seen before, walked closer to each other but still continued on to see the same people they were saved by. The pups got excited again and approached the four joggers in joy. Ally and Mac reached down and picked up the pups and thanked the staff members and walked out to the truck. The two pups sat in the back with Jasmine and Stephan, they laid down in between the two of them.
The truck pulled up to a pet store and Ally and Mac got out the truck leaving the pups in the truck with Jasmine and Stephan. The pups noticed they stopped and walked over to Stephan to see out the window. They stood on their hind legs wagging their tails. They saw Ally and Mac walk into the store and they started barking and panicky as the doors closed behind them. Jasmine and Stephan started petting them and saying sweet nothings to calm the two down and it worked. About five minutes later the two walked back out of the store with two kennels, two beds, and two food and water bowls. Mac put all of the stuff in the bed of the truck and the two climbed back into the truck driving off. About 15 minutes later they pulled into a driveway of the pups new home. Mac got out the truck to get the kennels. He put them on the ground and Ally and Jasmine grabbed the pups. They put the male in the blue one and the girl in the pink one. They pups didn't sit well with being separated. Mac and Stephan each grabbed a kennel and the girls grabbed the beds and bowls.
As the four made it to the door it swung wide open. A lady with blonde hair and green eyes smiled happily at her four guests. She guided them into the house. The blue Kennel went into the boy's room and the pink one went into the girl's room. The beds and bowls stayed down stairs. The pups lay in their kennels defeated knowing they won't get out. A few minutes later two kids came into the house from the backyard. Their excitement was heard upstairs by the pups and then little feet were heard running up a flight of stairs and into rooms. A little girl saw the kennel in her room and opened the door and out ran the she wolf pup. Her tail wagging as she licked the girls face.
"Snow, I'll name you, Snow. Hi, Snow my name is, Kacie," the little girl said
Snow liked her name and wagged her tail. The pups mother only called them 'pups'. Kacie and Snow left their room and went down the stairs. Snow was a little scared to be apart from her brother but she had Kacie by her side to keep her company. The boy, Ben, named his pup, Storm, and they left his room running down the stairs. Kacie and Ben sat down on the couch next to their mom and aunt Ally.
"Now kids, these are your early birthday presents. You train them and you feed them. But me and your father will buy their dog food and treats when you run out. You both are eight years old and have shown us that you are responsible enough for your own pets." Their mother said
"Yes ma'am. We will do are best to get them trained." The twins said at the same time.
The pups lay on the floor at the feet of their human. They wagged their tails when the two got up and went back outside in the backyard. The pups followed close behind. There, they played until it was dark outside. The pups were happy in their new home and new family.
When their mother called for them to come inside, the kids filled their pups' food and water bowls. After dinner the parents went to bed and the kids moved the dog beds into their rooms. That night Snow and Storm fell asleep happy.
