Chapter 14
"And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make." - "The End" by The Beatles
One year later....
"Your going to miss the beginning of the movie!" Riley calls to me from the living room.
"I'm almost done!" I call back, trying to finish the charcoal as quickly as I can.
"My jaw is starting to hurt." Corey starts to laugh. I swat at his arm.
"Hold still!"
I finish the drawing. "Okay, I'm done." Corey stretches out his arms and legs, moving from the position he's been in for about an hour.
"I," He says, pulling me to him by my waist, "Am never doing that again. Ever." He raises an eyebrow at the picture. "Although, this makes me look pretty hot..." I laugh. I kiss him, until Riley peers into the kitchen.
"Honestly, you guys. Let's keep it G-Rated and get into the living room." She warns. I grin and grab the popcorn off of the counter.
Is this how Cinderella felt? Finally getting her happy ending? Because that's exactly what it feels like as I sit down on the couch, squishing between Riley and Corey. Riley apologized a million times for being herself, and after a very long year, we're somewhat back into the transition of friends.
And Corey and I? We're engaged!
Just kidding. But I got you there, right? We are, though, going to the Maine State University for the Arts and Peforming Arts in the fall. My dad is spending his time in prison, where he'll be for his entire life. It's weird how I should feel bad for him, when I don't. I miss him, in a way, but I miss him in the way he used to be.
The beginning of the movie plays out on the screen, and that's what I think this is.
A beginning.
The End.
