Creatures?!?!

The thing in front of me seems to snap its head towards us.

Its face shows pure fury.

Shit......

Aiden steps in front of me.

Aw cute he's trying to be a hero...probably a good thing because I almost shat my pants seeing this ugly little shrivelled little creature.

The thing seems to start to rev its foot up like a bull.

I panic.

What if it kills Aiden?

The creature is that only goes up to my hip...

Aiden charges at it with something sharp...is that my grey lead pencil?

He sticks the pointy end into its stomach.

Ew......

It cries out in pain. Then the horrible screams come to a silent smile.

Any normal living thing would have died...

But the creatures tummy...oh my effing god... it's deep wound re-seals. No more blood...

Shit.

The grey lead pencil springs out of its stomach, rolling and landing near my feet.

I stare at the pencil then look up.

The creature was furious before...now it's just full on pissed.

It comes charging.

I don't know what goes through my mind...but in all but a second I grab the grey lead and run to Aiden and the creature.

I plunge the grey lead directly into the heart of the creature.

I feel a pinch on my hand but ignore it.

I stare at it shocked. My wide eyes mirror Aiden's.

The creature lets out a wretched scream. Then it begins to burn.

What the-

It completely dissolves into ash. The ash then dissolves into nothing.

All you can hear is Aiden and me, our heavy breaths catching onto the same beat.

Aiden seems to find his voice first, "how...how did you know to do that?"

I breathe, in and out, then shrug, "Vampire Diaries?"

He turns to me, "what?"

"That's how you kill a vampire,"  I give another shrug. But really I'm dying inside.

He places a hand on either shoulder, "you mean...you just saved us from whatever the hell that was because of some vampire TV show?"

I stare at him for a second. How close he is. Then I snap back, "I...er...it's a book too you know?"

He raises an eyebrow.

"What?" I begin to smile.

He just shakes his head, "well thanks."

"You should thank The Salvatore bros," I see his face then instantly change my words, "um, I mean your welcome."

He nods, "but...now we gotta focus on what the in hell was that thing?"

I nod along with him, "apparently we're not the only living thing out here."

"I wouldn't call that a living thing," we are now both sitting on my bed.
