Expect The Unexpected

Chapter 3

It's been a whole 12 hours since I spoke to any of the guys. I know that, because it's only 10a.m, everyone would be asleep still, except for Alex. He always wakes up at 8 ish and heads down to the gym before anyone else. He finds it much much relaxing to work out while no body is "judging you" on how you look.

Austin doesn't really have that much time left here in San Antonio. Since he got signed he moved down to Miami and only comes down every couple months or for Christmas and thanks giving. So the time we do have together we make it worth the while.

**Dinner **

"Honey dinner is ready" "ok dad, I'll be right down" it's just gone 12:30 and dad has made my favorite, Macaroni cheese with bacon and leak. "So you spending the day with your friends or do you wanna hang out with me today?" Dad always starts the conversations, he just knows what to say. As for me, I'm socially awkward."I don't have plans for the day, soooo we could hang out I suppose. What do you have in mind?" I was actually looking forward to spending the day with my dad. It's very rare as he is a workaholic. "Well do you wanna go and look for a car? I notice you were looking on your phone the other day?" "OMG OMG OMG, are you serious? Of course I wanna look for a car!" By this point I was half way up the stair shouting down at him. "Calm down! I said LOOK not BUY" way to ruin the moment there dad.

We're on our way to the car dealership and I'm so excited. I've wanted a car for ages (couple months) since I passed my test back in February. "Do you have a car in mind? Like, what model do you want? What color? " " to be honest dad I don't mind what car I have as long as it looks cool and it is red. IT HAS TO BE RED!" After looking at all the car online, I've come to the conclusion that red is the best color for a car.

**At the dealership**

"Ruby, go and look around while I speak to the salesman!" My says to me while walking towards the sales office. "Ok" I've been looking at these cars for a good 10 minutes and I've seen nothing I like. I see my dad walking back to be with what presume to be the sales person thingy. "See anything you fancy" the sales person doesn't even say hi or introduce himself. I think to my self. " umm no not really. Nothing catches my eye." "Well what were you looking for" my dad says, but I already told him that I don't mind what car but it has to be red, and none of the cars here are red. "Well, the car has to be red, no question about it. And you have no red cars." I thought I might as well point out that try have no red cars. "Are you sure you don't want anything else honey?" "Yes dad I'm sure". My dad starts to shake the mans hand and before letting go he apologizes for wasting his time. Why are we wasting his time? It's his job!

Anyway while we were walking back to the car , I noticed that there was a Red 4 by 4 in the garage. "Hey dad, do you think that car there is for sale" my dad was literally about to get in the car he didn't seem happy AT ALL. " which one? I can't see any" "that one in the garage" "oh ummm I don't know. I'll go and ask." He starts to walk back to the office while I sit in the car and start to text Austin.

Me: Good afternoon mr. Mahone! 😜

Austin: Good afternoon miss. Gonzalo 😃

Me: you doing anything tonight?? I'm thinking about throwing a pool party before you leave. Get the crew round and invite some other people! It will be fun 🙏

Austin: Ummm sure why not. I will get the boys together and text some other people see if they wanna come.

Austin: Sorry I have to to Rocco is calling! I will see you later 😘

Within 10 minutes the conversation was over and my dad was back. "So?"

I asked nervously. " so what?" My dad was playing stupid. I hate when he does that. " is the car for sale or not ??" "It was but, some guy just brought it." I couldn't tell what my dad was thinking, he was expressionless. "Oh" I was really disappointed I wanted that car. It was THE car. "Cheer up, we can keep looking!" He sounded sincere and pulled out into the round. The car journey back home was really quite. I put my headphones in listening to Austin's new songs that hadn't ever been released yet, while dad listened to the radio.

**SORRY ITS SHORT, IVE HAD A LOT GOING ON. I WILL TRY AN UPDATE EVERY OTHER DAY IF THATS OK?!
