"Gray," Started Natsu almost hesitantly.
I frown, "What?"
"I was thinking of... breaking up with Lucy..." He said after a minute of hesitation.
I frown at this. Why would he break up with Lucy? He loved her with all his heart, nothing could change that. So what could've happened?
"Why?" I ask plainly.
He kisses his teeth, "There's... someone else."
My heart stopped momentarily, someone else? I thought Lucy was the only one for him? This isn't adding up.
I sigh, "Who?"
"Lisanna..."
Flame brain says what? Lisanna? But I don't think she's interested in him like that. Besides, LISANNA?!! She's so... boring. Lucy and Natsu are a much better fit.
"Isn't there anyone else besides," I pause to keep myself from gagging, "Lisanna?"
Natsu pauses to consider this, "Well, there is... one other person that's not Lisanna."
I let out a sigh of relief at this, "Ok... Ok good. So who is it then?"
Natsu mumbles something that I can't understand, but I think he said Chu?
"Chu? Who's that?" I ask.
"I said you dipshit!" Snaps Natsu.
I'm taken aback by this. Me? But why? I'm not interested in a relationship right now, and Natsu's my best friend, I don't like him like that. Actually, most if the time I don't like him period.
"I'm... Sorry Natsu, but I'm not looking for a relationship right now. I'm sorry." I say as considerately as I can as I walk away.
"Then I'll wait for you!"
I pause and look back at him.
"However long it takes," He finishes with a weak smile on his face.
I shake my head and turn away, "Sorry bud, but it's just not my style."
As I walk further away, a cloud of doubt settles in my mind. Did I make a mistake? I mean, I've liked him for a while, but I never expected something like this to happen. Not in a million years. Still, he's so cute when he gets all "fired up." And it's sweet how he'll do anything for a friend, even if it means risking his life. He's done it for me... many times.
I stop walking and groan. I made a mistake! Why did I reject him? That was so stupid if me! Arg! Way to go Gray, the one time you managed to keep your clothes on you blew a major moment. Ah! Why did it have to go this way? I need a major do over.
