The bright yellow sun burned my eyes. It was almost unbearable but I loved it. For the first time I breathed in air that wasn't rotten with barely alive souls.
I stepped out, timidly my feet touched the hard grey pavement. Immediately as I took a step away from the door a black backpack appeared at my side. I picked it up unzipping the scratchy fabric pocket. Inside was a passport, a card which I could only assume that it was my ID, a wallet which had endless amounts of cash, a phone, and a smooth wooden box to hold the angels grace once I stole it from them.
Higher ranked demons get harder, longer missions. I am at the lowest level. The devil may be my dad but that doesn't mean he trusted me.
I looked around, everywhere was different. Large screens were hung up by what looked to be nothing I imagine it's just hidden though. Red, blue, green, orange and colours I couldn't have even imagined were everywhere. It really was a sight to behold I wish Niall my best friend was here to see it. He would have been over joyed.
I turned around looking for the door that had magically disappeared and all that was left in it's presence was a graffitied brick wall. I looked up at the building trying to figure out what it was. Fluorescent lights made up words but they were jumbled. I couldn't read anything yet. It was going to be hard for me to do anything.
I started walking trying my best not to hit anyone. Today I was hoping it would be easy just getting to know the place. Angels would be looking for me too and that made me uneasy. The feeling that they could kill me anytime. The only way to take an angels grace is if they're alone. I would have to find one make them come alone with me somewhere then carve a symbol into they're left shoulder. The symbol thank hell was simple. It consisted of lines that made up a square and the first letter of your name. You could kill them too and take it that way but despite what people think we do have feelings, well some of us and we prefer not to.
I bumped into a buff man with blonde hair, falling onto my butt.
"Watch where you're going buddy." He reached out his hand. I reached up grasping his hand tightly pulling myself up. His arms were scattered with tattoos.
"Not everybody will be as nice as me." He gave me a warm smile.
"Thank you. I'm new here do you know where I can find a hotel."
"Yeah I do actually I'm a tour guild. Today's my day off."
"Oh you don't have too. I'm sure you're sick of new people." I replied.
"I love it. Here follow me. And stay close."
He grabbed my elbow weaving me in and out of on going people. Some people went with ease knowing what to do. Other which I'm sure are tourists didn't. We walked for about 20 minutes before taking one last turn.
"This is actually one of the cheapest hotels. It's really nice though not to worry."
"Thank you." I took out my wallet picking out a 50$ bill.
"No need I was coming this way anyways. My apartment is right there." He said pointing a a large building.
"Thanks a lot." I said again.
"No problemo. If you need anything is be happy to show you. My names jack by the way" he said patting me on the back.
He handed me a slip of paper no bigger then a you car. I unfolded it. He had written his number on it.
"That's if you need to find your way around town. Or if you want some company." He said winking at me.
I blushed my face turning dark red.
"It's okay, man. We can just hang out sometime. No need to freak out.
I felt silly. He did wink at me and didn't object to liking me. I don't feel disgusted like I should. I feel happy because someone likes me.
"Okay. I'll call you." I said laughing a bit.
We said our last goodbyes and I was on my way.
I walked up to the hotel it was nice, a deep red colour and a white door and window frames. I opened the tall glass doors. Everything here seemed elegant.
I waltzed up to the front desk. Behind it sat a young lady. She couldn't be older then 25. Her caramel coloured curly hair sat on her shoulders cascading down her blue ruffled blouse. He eyes were bright green, even brighter then my own. Her ruby red lips moved as she talked. I leaned against the plastic made to look like wood.
"Hey." She said taking in a sharp breath.
"Hey, how are you," I looked at her name tag. "Lillian?"
"I'm good, and you?"
"Better now I'm here."
"Long day." She said letting out a sigh.
"You don't know the half of it."
"So just you or?" she said hesitating.
"Just me." I said grinning.
"Single, double, queen, or king?" she said smiling hard.
"Queen please."
"No problem, name please."
"Harry styles."
"Phone number?"
"014-975-3457." (Please don't actually call this idk if it's actually a domain and yeah thanks)
"Okay how many nights will you be staying."
I thought about it. Not knowing how long if be here.
"Ummm I actually don't know. Let's go with three"
"Alrighty. That will be 348$ please. Debit or visa."
"Cash, actually."
"Oh, okay. No ones ever payed with cash."
"I'm old school."
I handed her the money and she handed me my key. As she did our hands touched she blushed deeply. I smiled and waved goodbye. I shakily stepped onto the elevator. I could already tell I was going to hate them. I pressed the button to the 12th floor. Breathing deeply as it slowed to a stop and the creaky metal doors opened I ran out relieved to be out of there.
I rushed to my room. Inside there was a bed in the middle of the room. Is smelt of flowers and vaguely like cigarets. There was a balcony overlooking the city and pool directly underneath me. The bed sheets were a rich red. A colour for for a queen. A tv was placed directly in front of the bed and a closet beside the bathroom. It was pretty.
The receptionist mentioned a gym. If have to use it if I was going to stay toned.
I was startled out of my daydream when there was a knock at the door. I inched closer as the knocking continued. I peaked through the hole holding my breath.
