It was that day. Why that day? It was the best yet worst possible timing, but it still happened. That one day, twenty-four hours, one thousand four hundred forty minutes, eighty-six thousand four hundred seconds, all in that day. And every one, unfforgettable...

September 13, the first day of 9th grade. I stepped on the bus, scanning the rows of seats looking for Andrew (my best friend). I saw him and made my way over to him, walking down the narrow bus aisle covered by chewed up gum and blocked by backpacks. Andrew moved his backpack to the ground so I could sit next to him.
"You nervous?" he asked.
"Nah, you?" I lied. I was nervous. Its the first day of high school! Who wouldn't be?
"Nope. Even if I was, this is not gonna be the worst day of freshman year."
He was right. The day hasn't even started yet. Everyone knew that. I still don't know what to expect about the first day of high school. My sister, Jenna did try to give me tips, I mean I should listen right? She's a senior, she knows it better than anyone. But knowing my sister, its a setup she would never give me tips about what high school is really like. I learned that in middle school.
Anyways, the bus stops slowly at the last bus stop. The chatter quiets to dead silence, everyone looking at the front of the bus. I get chills, I don't know what to expect if I turn. But curiosity takes over. I turn my head slowly just to look at Andrew. He sits there staring dreamily. I can't take it anymore. I whip my head around, my jaw drops.
"Wow..." Is all I can say.
The bus doors closes and all you can hear is click click click. The bus starts and everyone comes out of a trance, but still glancing over to that seat. I can't get my eyes off until Andrew slaps my arm and shakes me saying...
"Dude! Look! I mean, wow just wow!" I nod my head. Nothing could come out of my mouth. Minutes pass and I still cant take my eyes off that bus seat. Three rows in front of us. But it feels like one row in front. The next stop comes into sight and people start shuffling to make room, Andrew picks up my bag and shoves it in my face.
I snap out of it, finally. The bus stops, the doors swing open in front of a line of kids that pile on the crowded bus. Andrew shows be his pictures of the new skateboard he wants. I wasn't really listening, my mind wandering from his words. I just couldn't stop thinking about everything. I get like this a lot, tuning people out and thinking about random things. I kept catching myself looking at that certain seat. Andrew noticed too and punched me in the arm.
"Hey! What was that for?" I said rubbing my arm. He rolled his eyes and started talking to Sydney in the seat next to us. She's not the nicest person to me but she acts like we're friends because she likes Andrew, as well as every other guy in the school. I stop listening to them, checked what time it was, then looked outside. Thinking. The trees passes quickly and flashes of color passes going the opposite direction. I closed my eyes, when the bus slowed to a stop. I opened them and saw our new school, Rockwell High School. Row by row, students exit the bus. Just like any regular day. Even though it wasn't, for me at least...
Now I wouldn't say I'm popular but Andrew is, I'm friends with him which makes me popular. Its not that I don't like it, I mean I have lots of friends and I'm athletic but there's so much drama. I'm not antisocial, I just like time to myself. Just another teenage face in an ocean of hundreds.
I get off the bus with Andrew and before you know it, Andrews being flooded with people, mostly girls, asking him questions and commenting on his outfit.
"You look so cute!" "We should hang out!" "I haven't seen you in forever!" "You never texted me back.." "I love you!" "Come here and hug me!"
I just rolled my eyes and started to push threw the crowded sidewalk and up the stairs. Andrew saw me walking away and started pushing his way to get to me. When he caught up to me, he looked at me and stopped. He grabbed my arm and I stumbled backwards.
"What the heck? What's wrong?" I yelled. He knew I was mad. He always puts his social life in front of his best friend.
"What's your problem? You always get mad when I'm talking to someone else. You aren't in control of who I talk too. My life does not revolve around yours, just back off!" He stormed away and turned back to glare at new before walking to his fanclub. I just kinda stood there, processing what just happened. Its the first day of high school and my best friend and I just got in a fight.
"Great. I'm so excited for this year..." I muttered sarcastically under my breathe. I sighed and walked into the school.
