Nadine treaded lightly down the hallway—unable to hide the idiotic grin that curled her lips. She was filled with so much joy—like a child on Christmas morning.

Her hair was a disheveled mess ontop her head. It was more than evident she had just woken up. Especially with the way she used her delicate palms to rub at her tired eyes.

From the moment she woke up, there were only two things on her mind; Food and Sebastian.

Nadine had dreamt of Sebastian the night before. And it was the most delightful dream as well—like sipping the sweet nectar of a maple tree or sucking refreshing, fruit-flavored popsicles on a hot summer's day.

Nadine wished she could stay there with him in her perfect dream forever. But eventually, the painful growls of her empty stomach became too much. And her eyelids peeled back.

Sebastian stood in front of the sink, his back to Nadine as he stared out the window. A steaming mug sat perfectly in his hands. The corners of Nadine's pink lips curl instantly at the sight.

Nadine stepped closer. Her eyes never left Sebastian's lean build.

Sebastian was utterly lost in his thoughts—deeply consumed. And because of this, Nadine found herself too being lost in her own mind. She mentally pondered the contents that were running through Sebastian's mind. What is he thinking about?

A thought blossomed in Nadine's mind, and suddenly she couldn't help but explore it.

Was it Sadie? Her mood immediately turned sour. Was Sebastian thinking about her?

Why wouldn't he? An obnoxious voice in the back of Nadine's mind asked. After all, that is his girlfriend.

A girlfriend that's been away for quite some time—But a girlfriend nonetheless!

All you are is a stranger...

Sadness injected Nadine's heart. A cold shadow loomed over her. The sting of jealousy coursed through her veins. A bitter taste left on the tip of her tongue like bile, and Nadine visibly glowered.

She made a point of walking into the kitchen—and when that wasn't enough—Nadine plopped down at the island, assuring the grasp of Sebastian's attention when the stool creaked beneath her weight.

Sebastian turned at the sound and eyed Nadine like a ghost.

"Morning!" She chirped with a forced smile.

"Oh," Sebastian murmured and quickly regathered himself. "M-morning." After a moment of piercing silence slipped by, he added, "... did you sleep well?"

Nadine nodded, and her smile widened.

Sudden realization contorter Sebastian's tired features, and to himself, he murmured, "Morning.... Breakfast?" Quickly he placed his mug down and made his way to the fridge. "I'm sorry, you're probably starving. Do you want me to make you something to eat before work?"

Before Nadine could respond, Sebastian pulled out the box of eggs and a carton of milk. With the stove heating, he whisked the milk and eggs together. The moment he poured the yoki mixture into the frying pan, loud applauses filled the room.

Nadine tucked her smile behind her hands as she watched him cook.

"Actually," Nadine began after so long of silence, "I had a lot of weird dreams last night," she admitted, and Sebastian cast her a look over his shoulder.

Nadine shrugged simply. "I think I was just hungry."

"Or maybe it was all the sugar you had before bed." Sebastian had seen an alarming amount of lollipop wrappers in the trash lately.

Silence fell over then as Sebastian cooked.

"Did you go outside at all last night?"
