Renegade's P.O.V

I stride towards what used to be the Empire State building. The no-longer city is now barren and littered with mounds of metal, concrete, and other various objects.  There are no signs of any life. My violet eyes search my surroundings, confirming that I'm alone. My 5.7 FN is strapped to my hip, along with my other AR pistol.

The wind whips my jet black hair around as a cold chill tumbles down my back. My gaze travels up towards the sky. An angry-looking dark gray cloud is drifting slowly on the way to my destination. Great. A storm is just what I need. The weather certainly wasn't on my side today.

I sigh, shaking off the cold trying to focus on my target. It's been a while, but I made it. Rumor has it that in the old Empire State building, there are loads of supplies. People who try and get to them are usually taken by cannibals.

Yeah, I don’t plan on becoming cannibal-chow.

The Empire State building is very close to the cannibal camp. Dangerous? Extremely. My chances are one in a million, but it’s a risk that I’m just going to have to take.

Sighing, I approached it cautiously. Darting in and out of abandoned stores and rubble, staying hidden.

Reaching the building, I looked around. Silence. The cannibals hadn't noticed me. Looking at the sky I felt a raindrop splash on my cheek.

Just in time.

I pushed open the door, looking around. The ceiling was demolished along with the walls and such. I'm guessing that there are no more than 10 floors left.

Climbing over the debris, I reached the staircase. Surprisingly, it was stable enough for me to stealthily dart up to the second floor.

When I reached it I almost fell through the gigantic hole in the floor. I stabilized myself and looked around. The rumors had been true.

All around there was food, water, weaponry, basic and advanced survival equipment, and somehow a fucking Jeep. I grinned. Victory was mine. I cautiously went around the hole and loaded all the supplies I could into the vehicle. On top of the Jeep there was an AS50 semi-automatic rifle.

My heart soared. This was enough to get me through a few months by itself not to mention all the other supplies I has stashed away. I got into the car and started it up. The engine purred to life and my smile widened.

A crazy thought came to mind. There was only one way I could get these outside. I accelerated towards a crumbling wall, crashing through it. How I landed safely, I don't know. All I know is that there was some serious whip-lash.

I groaned and drove forward. My rear-view mirror was soon filled with the snarling faces of cannibals, hot on my trail. Not good.

Speeding forward, I spotted another scene. A dozen cannibals were gathered around an object, trying to attack it. I saw one fly back. In the same instant, I saw the fierce expression of a girl who was battling her way through the group of man-eaters.

She needed help.

I sighed as the little angel on my shoulder told me to help her instead of leaving her to be eaten. I accelerated towards the battle, ramming into a few. I exited the car, reaching for my pistol.

Running towards the girl, I fired at any who attempted to near her. My instincts took over. Grabbing my sword's handle, I unsheathed it and started killing cannibals.

The girl watched as I lost all self-control, taking down anything that reapproached me. I was fast and strong, reacting on instinct to win the battle. Several came charging at me, onlt to be stuck down. Lightning struck the ground followed by a loud boom of thunder. It started to rain harder as I furiouslky battled my way through the man-eaters. The cowardice beasts started to flee. A loud battle cry escaped my mouth as I decapitated a being, splattering blood all over myself.

A loud crack of thunder detonated in the sky as I killed off the last one who hadn't fled. When it was all finished, I was breathing heavily, tired and exhausted. I stood soaked to the bone, trying to catch my breath.

The girl neared me cautiously, with her staff readied. "It's okay..." I breathed, sheathing my sword. I recomposed myself and brought a bloodied hand up to my hair, pushing some of it out of my face.

The girl twitched, turned and picked up a fox walking away. She didn't even say thank you, or anything just began walking. Then I noticed in what direction, towards my jeep.

"That's mine!" I screeched as she got in I ran as quickly as possible towards it, only to watch her drive away.

I stared in disbelief. Anger swelled up inside me. "That BITCH!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. Pure rage came over me as I ran after her, my violet eyes fueled with a desire to fucking kill her.

Border's P.O.V.

I was in hysterics, laughing hard as I watched her race after my new jeep. I hit the brakes and kept laughing.

"HEY!" She ran up and looked me dead in the eyes.

"I was joking around!" I laughed, and looked at her "It's still yours!" I said leaping into the passenger seat. It was an easy (and not very believable) lie. I wanted the Jeep for myself. I wasn't as stupid as her, risking herself to save me.

Even if I needed it. The only reason I said otherwise was because she has a gun, and I have a staff. I didn't have the upper hand.

A deadly look was burning hot in her violet, making me feel small and insignificant. She meant business.

A deep growl rumbled from her throat. The blood splattered on her face made her look even more lethal than she already was. "Get the fuck out of my Jeep."

I looked at her surprised. "W-what?"

She pulled out her gun and pointed it right at my head. "Get out!"

I realized that I had made a mistake. What should I do? Get out? Beg for mercy? Take the Jeep? No. not that again. She'd shoot me before I could start the ignition. My best option is to do what she says.

Shakily, I step out of the car.

Her fiery gaze makes me feel threatened. She mutters something before getting into the car. She starts it up. I run to the driver’s window.

"Wait!"

"What?!"

I have a look of sincere mercy in my eyes. I can’t afford to be alone when this great opportunity could pass me by.

"Please take me! I'm sorry...I don’t deserve It., but please..." I whimper and shake. It's true. I don't deserve it.

She keeps a stern look and sits for a moment before sighing and grumbling "Get in."

I thank her and take a seat in the passenger. I give her a look of gratitude and stroke Tip-Tip.

“But I swear, if you pull a stunt like that again, I’m not against bringing you to the cannibals as a trade.” She barked, making me flinch.

I nod and sit back as she drives forward, the rain still beating down hard.
