I lay by my master's side, watching as always. Drifting off and listening to the sounds of the loud house. The country is quiet and cars are loud. I hear one. My ears perk up and a growl escapes my throat. Another loud noise but this time it's a voice. My owner yelling at me but I don't listen. "Shut up, Remi! It's just the Fed Ex guy!" I don't listen. I never do. What if they hurt my master? I can't let that happen. My drool flies and stains the window as the man walks on the porch. He is far too close. I don't like it. I don't trust him. I don't trust anyone but my owner who even on a few occasions have bitten. She makes me wear a muzzle. It annoys me and I always take it off but it always ends up back on. Unless of course we are alone. I like being alone with master but she can be scary sometimes. She yells a lot, but I still love her. I always will. She is the only owner who has shown me kindness. My last few were very mean and left me alone on the streets. They beat me. They blamed me for everything but... I loved them, even then they left me on the road to die. But not my new master. My new master loves me and I, her.
