ORION'S POV:

after a few days in dc and hanging with the other spies to devise plans, my parents, rory and i had left and headed back home for seaford.

at some point on the way home my parents had been contacted and assigned to protect these twin kings, their cousin and a guard and daughter close to the pair of kings, from this unknown island called kingkow. it was undetermined how long they'd be in kingkow but seeing as i've basically yet unknowingly been groomed in this spy life i can know what to expect, especially upon realising how my life's been set up. i even learnt that when i was left with family they had been retired spies. so yeah, they have left for long missions but they always made it known how much they loved me.

they also made it known to rory and i to keep to ourselves the usual 'no funny business' talk you hear in movies or read in fanfics and other rules such as no parties and whatnot. they trusted that we could take care of ourselves so they didn't have to ask family to watch me yet they had made them aware they were going on a mission. and i was to be alone with a boy recruit. my parents, transferred those contacts to my spy bracelet and as well as that left a card with a bunch of money saved in the account. "use the money wisely, just because we may be gone a while does not mean you can blow it. use it for what you need while we're away and don't lose it." my dad warned before leaving.

in our downtime we scoped out this maddox guy and given rory is such a tech guy it made it very easy. this maddox dude is loony from what we've seen. we feel he's behind helping the operation with the combined groups.

after a few more days of rory settling in the house and doing our investigating, i took him around seaford to have him familiarise himself with it. jack and the rest wanted to come around mine to meet him when we got back from dc but i didn't wanna freak rory out.

so i then took him to the dojo to meet the boys and kim. we figured a backstory for him. i could've said he was a cousin living with us as if he was will smith in the fresh prince or something but the boys knew my family all too well. minus the spy stuff. mom then solved the problem by saying rory is the son of her best friend from growing up in dc i mean mom did grow up in dc, probably why she's been caught up in the all the spy stuff, rory is sticking around as his mom died. i tried to persuade mom to go with a less glum story, especially as rory seemingly doesn't know who his parents are. i suggested she moved countries, rory didn't want to go and so he'd stay back in the states to finish school and whatnot but as that would be a hard story to keep up we opted with the death.

jack, jerry, milton and kim quickly took a liking to rory as did he. rudy then came in and got their attention to start their lesson. rudy let me sit out with rory and we watched them.

i feel bad for rory. since the meeting it was said he came from nothing. an orphan. did bad stuff, petty theft and all that as a child. he was on the wrong side of the tracks. but never a bad person. he's a nice guy. he's especially funny. for as much as he had a hazy upbringing he's still positive and definitely a clown.

my curiosity continued to play on my mind so as we watched on i sparked a conversation, "i probably shouldn't ask or bring this up at all but where do you think your parents are?" i looked at him awaiting an answer. rory turned his head to face me. he put a face on as if to suggest he was wondering about it. then he suddenly got worked up.

"they're probably enemy spies! maybe this was all their doing in reuniting with me in a future mission!" rory joked. i shook my head. sure, i've known this guy for a little bit but i feel as though he's been a best friend of mine for as long as i could remember, i can get along with him and his jokes. "i don't know. i was but a baby when i was ditched."
