As the title of this chapter suggests, this is an introduction to 'The Story Book Project'. Currently, my end of year examinations have ended. As such, I have a lot of free time to spend. Instead of wasting my holiday away, I have set this challenge up for myself to work my brain during the long break so I do something productive.

The idea behind this project is that I write as many stories as I can, within the timeframe of the end of year holidays. The stories can be about anything, my views on a certain topic, a short story on bread, a romance series between a fork and a power socket. As long as I write more than 200 words for that story, it can be counted as ' a story'. Alternatively, I can write poems and songs, both original, extending down more than half the page. Ultimately, my goal is to write as much as 25 stories before the end of the year.

I got the inspiration for this project from my school. The English department has initiated the yearly 'Story Book Project' where every student from every year has to complete at least a hundred pages in their story book project. Every year, starting from this year, we will need to do this project. As I have one more year in the school, I would have completed 2 story book projects by the time I leave the school. Thank heavens, I feel bad for my juniors as they need to complete a total of 4 story book projects , and for the really unlucky ones, 5.

Some might wonder why I would actively give myself more homework. But I do not view this project as extra work. Mostly because I really enjoy English, Literature and writing. In that vein, this project is better perceived as a hobby of some sorts. Writing and reading has always been my way of expressing myself in a creative and safe way, as well as a means of destressing from the reality that is school. Some of the chapters in my other work, ' Beyond the Grave', was actually first written in my school's story book project and I wanted to make a book / sequel to a book from it. ( So 'Beyond the Grave' has been a work long in the making and I have put a lot of effort into that book, I hope you guys do enjoy.)

Just a few disclaimers before diving straight into the book.

This 'Story Book Project' may contain chapters where I discuss my opinions on subjects. Do not worry, I do not intend to delve into very heavy and deep subjects, but there might still be times where objections may be raised. I welcome any opinions you may have so I implore you to do the same. Please do share your personal views on my page, just make sure it is PG and not offensive.

Lastly, I invite any prompts or requests you may have. Although, should you have an idea for a story, I highly encourage you to take pen to paper and write out your own story. This is for multiple reasons. Firstly, I can not be sure that I may do your prompts justice. Secondly, prompts showcase your own individuality so why not express it using a medium widely known around the world, black and white words.

I hope you enjoy this challenge of mine.

Also, I consider this a story on its own. :p
