The rest of the school day finished quickly. Sarah didnt talk to me in the remaining classes and she sat three rows behind me and she looked as upset as i did. Darren sat next to me in the last two classes for the day and he kept asking me if i was ok. I always told him that i was fine but he didn't believe me. In the last ten minutes of Math class Darren passed me a note it said:

"Hey, do you want to walk home together afterschool?"

I turned and looked at him and he was looking straight back at me and then i glanced back at the paper and wrote "sure :) "Then I handed it back to him before the teacher turned around. I glanced at him again and he smiled. I then turned my attension back to the math problems on the board and smiled.

After the school bell rang and i packed up my books Darren was already waiting for me by the front of the school. We walked out and it was a silent walk until he suddenly broke the silence as we reached the park that i always cut through as a shortcut to get home. " So what happened with you and Sarah?" he asked. " Oh.. how did you know?" i asked curiously. " Well, it was kind of obvious when she didnt sit next to you for the rest of the day and you both looked pretty upset." he said. " Oh we had a fight, but dont worry about it." i said. " oh ok." he said.

Darren walked me to my house even though we passed his to make sure i got in safe and then he walked back home. As i walked inside i remembered about the talent show and ran upstairs to look for Lindsey who was sitting at her desk doing her homework. " Lindsey!! i have news!!" i shouted and jumped around infront of her. " Umm are u ok sis?" she said asking curiously. " Yeh im fine but i have to tell you something!" i said excited. " Ok?" she said confused. I handed her the poster and she read it carefully then looked at me with the same sadness in her eyes as she did the day before. " Im sorry Taylor, but i can't do it." she said handing me the poster and walked out of the room.

I looked at the poster then I went looking for Lindsey. She was sitting downstairs drinking orange juice and looking really upset again. " Lindsey what's wrong? Don't you love to sing?" I asked. " Sigh yeh I do but..." she stuttered. " What? Come on you can tell me, it's what sisters are for" I said smiling. She looked down at her shoes and then looked up at me. " Im scared to sing in front of people" she said ashamed. I walked over to her and hugged her. " It's ok Lin" I said. " No it's not! It's awful, I can't even sing in front of you without being so shy ad embarrassed" she said starting to cry. " Lin, it's ok. Everyone is afraid of something, but everyone also has something they are good at." I said hoping she would feel better. " You have an amazing voice Lin. I only wish I could sing that good!" I exclaimed. " Yeh but you are really pretty, I wish I looked like you Taylor." she said. " Well I guess we both wish we had what the other has, but you shouldn't be afraid to express yourself Lin, to some people singing is freedom and they find joy in it." I said.

Lindsey then looked up at me and smiled. " I enjoy singing but I just can never build up the courage to try." she said and her smile quickly faded. " Well I think I can help with that." I said smiling. " What do you mean?" She asked. " Lindsey I am going to help you overcome your fear and express your talent!!" I exclaimed. " She looked up at me and smiled once more. " Thankyou Taylor, your a great sister." she said and gave me a big hug. " Thankyou Lin." I said smiling. " Now." I said. " Let's start training for the talent show." Lindsey got up took out her keyboard from the living room and sat back down. " I'm ready." She said.
