PART ONE- Through The Market
She had to get away from them. They were chasing her, hunting her down. They couldn't let her escape. Katarine kept on taking glances behind her making sure they were not on her path, Katarine looked forward again and about crashed into one of the vendors stands.
"Sorry about that!" Katarine said as she was picking up her speed. She took another glance behind her, when her sister Eyve leaped out in front of her.
"Gotcha!" Eyve said right as Katarine dogged out of the way. Knocking over a wagon in the process.
"Shabkiu!" The vendor cursed at Katarine, ignoring his harsh words.
Katarine continued to run away from Eyve, but now she was more worried about where Marsuc would be. She continued to weave her way through the maze of the Navadae Market, not knowing when Eyve, or Marsuc for that matter, would pop out again. Katarine was about to turn the corner when she heard the raspy voice of her friend Marsuc. He was at the Fortune booth, and Katarine could faintly hear Marsuc and the Woman.
"There is danger in your future. But nothing can hurt you." The woman said right as Marsuc looked back and saw Katarine's silver blonde hair.
"Sorry, Secraa. I have to go" He said to the woman, right as he took off and darted for Katarine.
I have to find the flag! Katarine thought. The object of this game they were playing as to get a flag of a certain color without getting tagged. That is when she said something that caught her eyes, peeking out under a vendors booth was a neon blue flag. Katarine was about to grab it when Evye jumped out from under a vendors booth and tagged her.
"Eyve! I was almost there!" Then the girls both broke out laughing.
"What I'd miss?" Marcus said, out of breath.
"Oh. You don't miss anything, Mar" Eyve said, "Besides Katarine losing!"
"Oh, shut up!" Katarine mocked at Eyve.
"Kat, look what I found!" Eyve brought out a mirror with a gold rim entwined with blue, metal vines. The center of the mirror was cracked.
Katarine examined the beautiful mirror. "Where did you find that?"
"It was underneath the booth!" Eyve packed the enchanting mirror into her pocket.
"We should get back to mother, Ey" Katarine nudged Eyve in the arm.
"Okay. That's fine, I guess. Bye Marsuc."
"Bye Eyv, see you soon." Marsuc waved goodbye and took off in the direction of his little home.
PART TWO- A Cold Night
Endamare looked out the window, and what she saw scared her. She expected to see her daughters knocking on the door but she didn't. They have never been out this long. Endamare turned around and headed for the kitchen. That's when she realized that she left the back door open. Endamare crept closer to the opened door when she saw two shadowy figures in the window's reflection. Icers, she thought. The creatures made of shadow and ice and wood, that belonged to Calikaar. The Cold Forest. She slowly turned around to face the Icers. That is when she realized the shadow figures were just her daughters.
"Girls! You can't scare me like that, I could have attacked you thinking you were Icers!" Endamare warned.
"You think of us as Icers? Mother!?" Katarine was offended by that, and she made eye contact with her mother.
"Heavens no, my darlings!" Endamare said surrying over to gobble up her daughters into a warm hug. "I would never, never, think of you like that. You are my sun and moon!"
