Chapter 1
..______________________________________

It was recess time. A busy canteen. Counters and tables bustling with students. Everyone was so busy chatting with their friends. So was Dylan, blabbering about some football stuff. But my mind was wandering somewhere absolutely different. So many random thoughts crossing my mind collectively while I stared blankly into the crowd, or so I'd like to think.

" You still checking out that basketball hottie?" Dylan asked cocking his head to the side.

" Huh?" I mumbled as Dylan brought me back to reality.

" Oh my god! You're so caught red-handed at that!" Dylan exclaimed covering his mouth as he finished. " You in love with him? "

" What! No! Ew. " I retorted as I continued "I'm just, this sum is taking up my mind too much, so I just wanted to look away"

" So look AWAY dude. Not at him. " Dylan sipped his go-to latte.

"I wasn't looking at him " I defended stressing especially on the fact that I really wasn't.

" Grace, I understand what you're feeling. He's irresistible. Okay. But you just can't look at him. I mean look at him"

" What? Make up your mind Dyl! " I rolled my eyes.

" Ugh. My point is, he's the typical 'Bad Boy Sexy Visage ' guy but it's also him whose 'Butt-head Barbie Satanic Villain' who you need to ignore" he completed his dramatic dialogue with exaggerated enunciation.

" Okay. I get you." I reassured him as I pat his back.

" Good. And if you ever need a distraction, dude Jake and I are here. We're both tall and hunk. Hotness overloaded! " Dylan assured me now as he returned back to his sandwich.

I decided not to say anything to that 'hunk' reference, but it was just too hard to hold back. So i said it anyway," Hunk?"

"Okay. But not exactly hunk. But yes slightly" he said trying to prove his point.

"Slightly? It's not even average" I commented focusing back on my assignment.

"HEY! IT'S ANYTHING BUT AVERAGE. HUH" Dylan defended pointing his finger at me. He was right somehow. Not that they had the absolute muscular body goals, but they were the right amount of muscular. Dylan's stature suited the 5'8 height he owns.

" Sure" I said putting my hands up letting out a smile.

I brought my attention back to my assignment. A sudden feeling urged me to look up without any reason. My eyes, as they elevated, met those of a guy. Those dark brown eyes I didn't intend to look at. I got caught up in that gaze unable to remove my eyes off him. My body defied my orders. I felt so conscious of my body that I attempted to sit up straight, putting my tummy in, trying to hide my flabby thighs and tucking my dark brown hair behind the ears. I was staring at the guy I believed I hated. The guy Dylan warned of. The guy who everyone loves. Noah Carter.

Finding me this way, Noah let out a  pleased smile. He knew I'd react this way. He shook his head as he returns back to his conversation with his friends.

Damn! Why am I so stupid?
He's a jerk. He's a jerk who doesn't respect people. He doesn't deserve your attention.

" Dude how many sums left?" Dylan asked me as we walked down the corridor to our respective classes.

" Almost over. Just seven more." I replied. It was always me lending completed assignments to others.

" Good. It's booked. I take it first and then everyone else." Stellar declared joining us as she wrapped her black leather jacket arm round my neck.
