*A Few Months Later*

I'm sitting at my desk doing paperwork to finish up a case, Nick was interrogation grilling a suspect. A man walked into our office, I stood up "hey, how can I help you?" He came along side my desk "yeah, where's Nicky?" I stood in front of him "I'm his partner, you are?" He smiled "you're the partner, I'm the father." I chuckled "you're nick's dad?" He came up and shook my hand "how are you doing?" He kept smiling "he never  told me his partner was so beautiful" I chuckled and nodded toward my sister and she went go to get him.

*Nick's POV*

Tutuola and I were interviewing a suspect when Olivia came in 'nick, you got a minute?" I followed her back to the main area and I saw my father talking to Angel, "what are you doing here?" He was smiling at me "I just came by to say hello and talk." "Well, I'm working." I walked past him and he turned to Olivia "sergeant, would you mind if I took my son out to lunch? It would mean a lot to me" She shook her head a little "I don't know if now is a good time." Carisi stood up and said "I can take over with Fin." My father was smiling again "you have good friends here" he nudged me "still like Chinese?" I looked between Angel and Olivia "I'll be gone 20 minutes" I turned to him "let's go" I started walking toward the elevator and we got in "I'm getting married Nicky and I want you to come to the rehearsal dinner." I rolled my eyes "I've barely seen you since I was 15. I'm not coming." He chuckled "you could bring that partner of yours if you want" I turned my back to him "it's not happening." 

We got to the restaurant and he was showing me pictures of his fiance and I said "what is she 24?" He chuckled "Gabriella? No, she's 28. Her whole family is here." I sighed "why are you getting married here Nicolas?" He adjusted himself in the seat "I'm done with Miami, her family is here so." I rolled my eyes again "so you're not gonna go back are you?" He smiled at me "I don't know Nick. Oh, I'm getting a mixed martial art  gym, you should come by, it feels good to hit something." I leaned forward "you'd know something about  that wouldn't you?"  He put his phone down "you know what happened between me and you mom, it's over. I'm over it, she's over it." "you talk to her?" "yeah we talk all the time, about you, Sonya, everything" I rolled my eyes "I don't want you talking about me, or my daughter." "Okay, let's talk about your son." I stood up "I'm done here. Let's do this sometime in the next 25 years." "do not walk out on me. Don't walk out on me." I heard him say

When I got back to the station Angel pulled me aside "baby, are you alright?" I sat on her desk "my father is getting married. He wants me to come, even said I could bring you." She stood up and stood next to me "okay?"  I kissed her forehead "don't worry about it. We're not going." She nodded. After we got some down time and we went to my mother's house. 

*Regular POV*

We got to Nick's mom's house, he was talking to his mom and I was sitting on the couch not wanting to get into family problems I have no room to be in. All of a sudden his sister show's up "she seriously flew here from LA?" His mom looked at him "be nice." He rolled his eyes "daddy!" Zara ran into his arms and I smiled and went over to say hello "hey Zara, I had no idea you were coming" I smiled "hey Zar" she smiled at me "hey Angelina." Sonya came up to us "I had bonus miles, it was mom's idea." "Daddy, I got a new dress for the wedding, I'm the flower girl" He smiled at her "why don't you have abuelita help you put it on, I want to see it" then he turned to Sonya "dad put you up to this didn't he?" Sonya rolled her eyes "if you're that worried about it, just come tonight." "I'm not going. I have to go back to work, just let me spend some time with Zara. It was nice seeing you. Also if you're going tonight just take it easy." Sonya sat next to me "I'm assuming you're the girlfriend I've heard so much about" I nodded "yeah, Angelina Benson." She sighed "why does he have such a problem with this?" I took a deep breath "Sonya, you know Nick and your father don't get along. I know he definitely doesn't like that his daughter was thrown into this." She rolled her eyes "whatever he's told you. He's lying." I rolled my eyes "I'm sure." Nick came out of the room "Let's go Angelina." I nodded and stood up "nice to meet you Sonya." We got out of the house and into the car "what did my sister want?" "just asking if I was your girlfriend." "and?" I sighed "she told me you were lying about your father's past." That just made him angrier "of course she did, you didn't believe her did you?" "no baby, I don't believe her. What are we gonna do about Zara?" He sighed "I'll let her go with mom and Sonya."
