Her silent figure slowly approaches my car. In the darkness you can barely see her walk up to the passenger side and open the door. She slides her way in softly pulling the door after her and extinguishing the interior lights leaving us back in the dark that seems to enjoy overcoming us.
We sit there for a moment both seemingly unaware of what was lurking in the dark. She turns her body in her seat so that she was facing me and studies my face.
Ana's hands tremble as she tries to start the car.
She clears her throat, "I hope you don't mind but my studio happens to be my apartment studio as well and if you aren't comfortable I would understand."
Her words linger in the air. Waiting for the answer that could either end or begin this game they were inevitably heading
towards. Ana glances at her searching for an answer in her eyes, but she just sits there and smiles at her.
Those damn lips...
Ana's mind has been torturing her with them every chance it got.
"I don't see anything wrong with it. I wouldn't have come if I didn't want to see this work you so fondly speak of." She says calmly.
Ana start to drive towards her place. Feeling the electricity grow with each passing second. A part of Ana was longing for her but at the same time she was afraid to even get to close.
She didn't even know this woman but some part of her wanted to let her into her world to show her wonders. She wanted to create something beautiful with her that would destroy them both.
They pull up outside and both exit the car and made our way up the familiar stone steps to the top floor.
Once inside she almost immediately seemed to relax. She walks around making herself at home as if she already belonged here. Ana heads to the mini bar while Beth makes her way around the apartment. Getting a better look than she did last time before she had to rush out.
She stops in front of the window and Ana follows behind her/ She grabs the drink from my hand and takes a sip from it while continuing to gaze out the windows, "I've always been in love with the city lights. Especially when the glow off the black waters at night. I love how something so dark can also be so beautiful." She tells her.
"Well this view is one of the reasons I picked this apartment.
Helps inspire that hidden darkness inside to create pieces that truly come from the soul." Ana says.
Beth smirks as she begins to walk over to the studio stopping in front of a welding project Ana had been working on all day. Her hands glide over the metal lightly. Her eyes completely mesmerized.
"It's a last-minute addition. It's not where I want it to be yet. But once it's done it will be even more powerful." Ana explains
"And what is it that inspired such a powerful piece?" She asks tilting her head.
"Maybe I got the inspiration from a powerful presence that has come into my life. Or maybe I just got lucky with this one. Who knows exactly." Ana says halfheartedly as she downs her drink.
She gently takes the empty glass from Ana's hands and places it on the table next to us. She raises her eyebrow at me, "So you bring me
down here after hours to show me an unfinished piece of art?" Her voice sounding irritated
"That's not the only reason." Ana blurts out.
"Well then please tell me what it is or are you just wasting my time?" She says irritably. She seemed to be almost on the verge of leaving. Her little outburst just made her even more alluring. She was definitely the one who liked to be in control and seemed a bit antsy if she wasn't. Ana's silence seemed to have really done it. She turns on her heel heading towards the front door.
