Bailey stepped back into the guest room. Daniel had been be waiting for her, a disgruntled look on his face.

"You called?" Bailey leaned on the doorframe.

"Yes, um..." He pulled at his cuffs and huffed.

"This is embarrassing but...uh...Am I allowed to use the restroom, Madam?" He sarcastically raised an eyebrow.

Bailey scoffed.

"Of course. I prepared it for you."

"Prepared it? Oh, you're spoiling me."

"I got rid of all the sharp things in there so you don't try anything."

Daniel chuckled.

"Afraid your prisoner might retaliate?"

Bailey stood straight and sighed.

"You're not a prisoner, exactly. More of a pre-prisoner. I'm taking care of you until you're well enough to be locked away permanently."

Bailey walked towards Daniel, taking the key out of the front pocket of her overalls. Unlocking the cuffs, Daniel's hands were freed.

Bailey looked to his face and raised an eyebrow.

"Can you walk?"

Daniel stretched, joints cracking as he gave her a cocky look.

"I'm sure I can." He straightened up and tossed off the covers. He stepped down onto the carpet, put weight on his foot...then immediately hissed in pain.

"Augh, ow." Daniel groaned.

Bailey exhaled.

"Here." She put his arm over her shoulder and supported his body weight.

"Walk slowly, now. Don't want us falling over."

Daniel hesitantly allowed her to assist as she lead him to the bathroom down the hall. Bailey let go of him as they got to the door and he held onto the doorframe.

"You can maneuver yourself plenty fine if you just hang onto the counter. I'm not helping you onto the toilet." Bailey crossed her arms.

"I appreciate it." Daniel pushed himself into the room, leaned on the sink, then kicked the door closed.

Bailey waited down the hall for a good seven minutes before knocking on the door.

"Mr. Jones?" She called.

No response. She groaned. He better have not passed out on the toilet.

She heard a sudden, smug laugh.

"Ohoho! You didn't get rid of every weapon!" Daniel announced on the other side of the door.

"What-?"

Bailey was cut short as Daniel quickly opened the door and threw something at her, a hollow, papery clunk going against her face and making her step back in surprise. She heard footsteps rush past her and down the stairs. She looked down at what he threw at her.

Tampons. The murder man threw a box of tampons at her.

"Ugh!" Bailey turned around and ran down the stairs.

Daniel didn't really get that far, just down to the kitchen. Lily seemed to hear the commotion, the big girl running out of the front room and making a beeline towards Daniel. Daniel yelped and rushed towards the back door, fidgeting with the door handle, only to find it locked.
Now cornered by a growling golden retriever, Daniel shook his head as his ankle gave out and he collapsed onto the floor, his back against the door.

"No, no. N-nice pup! I'm a good guy!" It was clear the man was shaking.

Then Lily did something out of character. She lunged towards Daniel and bit his leg. Bailey gasped and made her way towards them.
Daniel screamed in pain, trying to kick the dog off of him as he banged on the door, his fists smashing against the yellow painted wood as he cried.

"PLEASE! SOMEONE HELP ME! I DON'T WANT TO DIE! I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY!"

"Lily! Bad girl! Down!" Bailey grabbed Lily by the tail and pulled her back, the dog yelping.

Lily looked up at her owner with scared eyes. She was just trying to protect her master from the man that was acting strange. Bailey swatted the dog on the rump and ordered her to walk away. Daniel was frantic, eyes teary as he continued bashing his fists against the door.

"I DON'T WANT TO DIE! I REALLY DON'T DESERVE IT!"

It didn't seem like he was yelling at Bailey, it seemed like he was begging to some unseen force that watched with delight. Bailey grabbed his shoulder.

"Mr. Jones, STOP." She spoke firmly as he looked her in the eyes.

How did he go from cocky and smug to pathetic and weak in mere seconds?
Daniel shook his head.

"No! You can't keep me here! I don't deserve it, I don't!"

"What are you even talking about?" Bailey groaned.

"Come on. Just come upstairs. I'll check your leg." She pulled at his arm and made him stand up.

"BITCH! FUCKING WHORE! LET ME GO! I HATE YOU!" Daniel was struggling and sobbing as she wrapped her arms around his torso and pulled him upstairs.

He reached for the door and screamed, trying to get out of her grip. He seemed completely unstable, well, unstable by his standards. Maybe this was something that happened when he didn't get his way, he threw a fit. Bailey was timid as he screamed, yet she couldn't help but feel pity and worry for him. He did seem scared. She managed to get him back to bed and in cuffs.

Daniel had his eyes closed as he cried, which was a surprisingly weak look for him.

"Daniel? Daniel, you have to calm down. Lily won't bite you anymore. I'll make sure you're safe until-"

Daniel's eyes snapped open.

"I'm NEVER going to be safe!" He yelled and shook his head.

"Not with you! Not with anyone! I can't be safe! I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die!" He looked around in panic.

Bailey gripped his face and raised her voice.

"DANIEL."

Daniel froze, looking back at her with wide eyes as he panted quietly.

'"You're not going to die, alright? You're safe as long as you're here. I'm not going to hurt you, ever."

These words seem to both calm and confuse Daniel.

"B-but..." he was quiet as he looked around.

"I don't like this at all..." he huffed.

"It's blurry... I'm...I'm scared..." he seemed so weak.

"I didn't feel like this in the sauna...Not once... I was safe there..."

Bailey tried to soften her touch.

"You're safe here, too."

Daniel blinked, a foreign sight.

"Can I sleep..?" He mumbled.

Bailey tilted her head.

"Of course you can."

Daniel smiled softly before closing his eyes.

"They...they didn't let me do that..." he huffed.

Bailey sighed. She really wish she knew what he was talking about. She wanted to know who 'they' were. She wanted to know what was wrong with him. She supposed she'd find out eventually.

"Sleep tight." She mumbled as he went limp at her hands.
